Beware, trigger warning.
Revisado: 08-25-23
I feel a trigger warning should have come with this book. I avoid books about child torture and human trafficking because they are too disturbing. The subject of this book is way beyond that. Lately, it seems to me that authors of mysteries are engaged in a race to the bottom to come up with the most disturbing and gruesome plots with unlikeable protagonists. I returned this book and I thank Audible for allowing me to do so.

Am I the only person who hates Freya?
Revisado: 08-18-22
I don't know if I can continue with this series. I like the mystery and the team, but the relationship between Ben and Freya is disturbing and immature. I also find Freya just plain mean with her many pranks. The 'bet' between Ben and Freya is cringey. I wish they could develop a normal adult relationship, if that's where this is going

When you need a break from blood and gore
Revisado: 07-28-22
Not very exciting, but no gore or torture either. Just kind of average. The author narrates and does an adequate job, but she is really just reading albeit with expression.

Montalbano receives an early-morning phone call, but this time it’s not Catarella announcing a murder, but a man called Riccardino, who’s dialed a wrong number and asks him when he’ll be arriving at the meeting. Montalbano, in irritation, says: “In 10 minutes." Shortly after, he gets another call, this one announcing the customary murder. A man has been shot and killed outside a bar in front of his three friends. It turns out to be the same man who called him.

American narrator for British book? Awful.
Revisado: 04-09-21
Who in their right mind would hire an American narrator for a British book? Very jarring, lots of mispronounced commonly used British words. I couldn't finish.
