Thomas Watson (1620-1686) was a non-conformist Puritan preacher and author. This work was first published in 1692. Having studied each of the 10 commandments, Watson examines the law, sin, and the way of salvation. He considers man's inability to keep the law, the degrees of sin and God's wrath against sin. Under the latter, he considers faith, repentance, the word, the sacraments, and prayer.

The narrator needs to read in a normal fashion. His desire to dramatize the reading has made the book nearly impossible to listen to for me. I had to turn the book off after about 5-10 minutes. It is a real shame since I wanted to hear what the author had written about. I guess this teaches me to listen to the recording next time before I make a purchase.
