Historia
From a New York Times investigative reporter, this “authoritative and devastating account of the impacts of social media” (New York Times Book Review) tracks the high-stakes inside story of how Big Tech’s breakneck race to drive engagement—and profits—at all costs fractured the world, and is “an essential book for our times” (Ezra Klein).

A great eye opener , just told from a biased angle
Revisado: 08-25-23
This is a great book (for the first few chapters) after a few chapters it’s told from a obvious perspective of an anti right wing perspective. The book is full of amazing information to help you rewire yourself , I feel the book could do more good for people being told from a neutral perspective and viewpoint. Even though the perspective did not affect my take on the book , I just feel it was very obvious and took the front stage after a few chapters.
The reader’s voice is not my favorite however that’s personal preference and I feel that’s reader to reader.
So I still suggest this book if you yourself can place yourself in a neutral position.

Historia
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

An Amazing story of man who saved a country
Revisado: 04-10-22
Let me start by saying I knew very little of General Grant. That I live in TN we knew lots of Robert E. Lee but not so much Grant. I started my wanting to learn about the civil war as my daughter is entering this part of history and school and I was shocked at what is being left out.
Mark Bramhall narrates an amazing book in a style that has me not wanting to put it down so to speak. He way of making you feel as if you were there in the moments described are impeccable. I wish he would narrate every book I listen to on here.
The book itself is a work of historical art , telling the story of a man who did so much and over came so much to save our nation and prepare it for growth. A truly selfless man deserves to be remembered for all time and this book does just that. My only downside was I wish it had PDF files for maps as other books like this have but is simply a personal preference.
If you are on the fence about this just listen to it , you won’t regret it. Be inspired by it and teach our children the history of our great nation and it’s darker days so they can be taught what men and women gave for our future.

Lewis and his partner, Captain William Clark, endured incredible hardships and witnessed astounding sights. With great perseverance, they worked their way into an unexplored West. When they returned two years later, they had long since been given up for dead.

So amazingly educational
Revisado: 01-12-22
This is a must-listen! To know a little about this journey and life is amazing but to read it all and to know the full story is even better. The narrator is amazing at putting you on that boat or climbing that cliff with Lewis, I wish this book had more to go but I loved every second of this story.

Listen to this book!!!!!
Revisado: 12-23-21
I was (like so many others) skeptical about listening to this. However, when I got started, I finished it in one day. I had the day to myself, and I played it straight through while working in the garage. Plot twist and turns. Edge of your seat kind of stuff. I loved this book!!!!!!

Wow!
Revisado: 11-16-21
This story starts off in jaw dropping fashion and never lets up. As you listen and read you get a look into Geo politics and just how far governments will go to keep relationships neutral with other governments. The book is well read and sometimes hard to follow but nothing a quick repeat won’t fix. However for me the only downside was the readers “impersonations” of other characters. I could personally do without that, but DO NOT LET THAT DETER YOU FROM READING THIS BOOK!
