Historia
By official accounts, the Navy SEALs of Alpha platoon returned as heroes after their 2017 deployment to Mosul, following a vicious, bloody, and successful campaign to drive ISIS from the city. But within the platoon a different war raged. Even as Alpha’s chief, Eddie Gallagher, was being honored by the Navy for his leadership, several of his men were preparing to report him for war crimes, alleging that he’d stabbed a prisoner in cold blood and taken lethal sniper shots at unarmed civilians.

I'd rather see the battle between countries.
Revisado: 02-06-22
I love this series, (even though this is a "stand alone story"). But I don't like the internal conflict it makes sometimes. These are true events given their nature, and when a writer goes this route, it makes for some uncomfortable times in the story.

Historia
Only once in a lifetime does a war so brutal erupt. A war that becomes an official genocide, causes millions to run from their homes, compels the slaughtering of thousands in the most horrific of ways, and inspires terrorist attacks to transpire across the world. That is the chilling legacy of the ISIS onslaught, and Only Cry for the Living takes a profoundly personal, unprecedented dive into one of the most brutal terrorist organizations in the world.

hard to stay focused for non-fiction
Revisado: 07-17-21
this is a non-fiction book that should be very interesting and informative, but the narrator ruined that by reading the story like it was a fictional story. this should have been read without all the glamor and Hollywood to dress it up. we are talking about genocide, war and despair. not the next chapter in game of thrones. if I was one of these people in the story I would have been pissed. but that journalists for you.

Henry Bins is only awake one hour a day. Can you imagine only being awake for one hour each day? Can you imagine having to cram your entire existence into sixty measly minutes? Two minutes to shower. Three minutes to eat. Five minutes to watch TV. And in that 3600 seconds you have awake, imagine that you have to figure out...Who murdered the woman across the street?

Worst book I've bought...
Revisado: 07-11-21
I listened to the Thomas Prescott series first and it was unbelievable. I loved every book in it.. Maybe that's what made this book so bad. But I couldn't finish the first one of this series. Everything is such a coincidence, and conviently laid out for this knucklehead to run his DIY investigation. Also, it's political. DONT DO POLITICS IN BOOKS YOU WANT TO SELL.

Story ruined by symphony music and redactions.
Revisado: 10-22-20
This was the worst book I've ever listened to with the cover-ups if sensitive material. I understand why, but it needs to be edited. you can't even follow the story. then to make it worse, they put annoying symphony music in there..

one of the best Memoirs I've read yet
Revisado: 05-25-17
Robert did a great job of telling and reading the story. I think it is really a big step up, on other stories when the author can effectively tell the story as well as write it. Not to mention in this case live it as well. Absolutely great book. I found out a lot of things that I never knew about both the author, ST BEEEEP and the Navy.

He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. Very fictional most PG rated apocalyps book wrote
Revisado: 02-22-17
It was a good book, but I really started struggling with it because it is just not a realistic situation. I could see this story working out like this if your church group survived the end of the world but no way would it ever pan out like this with a bunch of northeasterners. Plus everybody was always stopping to take naps.... Seriously???? a bunch of lazy knuckleheads. I don't even get to do that and I have not survived the end of the world and begin rebuilding it.
