Historia
Fiercely resilient and impeccably dressed, Veronica McCreedy has lived an incredible 87 years. Most of them alone, in her huge house by the sea. But Veronica has recently discovered a late-life love for family and friendship, adventure and wildlife. More specifically, a love for penguins! And so when she's invited to co-present a wildlife documentary, far away in the southern hemisphere, she jumps at the chance. Even though it will put her in the spotlight, just when she thought she would soon fade into the wings.

Decent sequel
Revisado: 03-06-25
Didn’t love this one as much as the first one. Seemed a bit drawn out in some portions of the story and cut short in others. Still an enjoyable light read

Historia
Mrs. Post, the President and First Lady are here to see you. . . . So begins another average evening for Marjorie Merriweather Post. Presidents have come and gone, but she has hosted them all. Growing up in the modest farmlands of Battle Creek, Michigan, Marjorie was inspired by a few simple rules: always think for yourself, never take success for granted, and work hard—even when deemed American royalty, even while covered in imperial diamonds.

Meh
Revisado: 08-09-24
Predictable story of the absurdly wealthy. I had a hard time finding any empathy or compassion for the lead character.

Predictable but good for the decade it was written
Revisado: 05-12-23
It seemed predictable but given that the book was written in the 70s, I’m sure it was quite suspenseful.

Predictable. Cliche. Stereotypical
Revisado: 05-18-22
One of the worst books I’ve listened to in a while. Couldn’t finish. It just got worse and worse.
