Interesting story that will be hard to walk away from.
Revisado: 02-04-25
I’ve listened to dozens of these clean historical romance authors and I have to say Julianne Donaldson is the best so far. With a depth much like Jane Austen (my favorite author of this genre), my only complaint is she only has two titles so far! Her books are addicting, another downside…you won’t want to stop listening until it’s over!

Amazing storyline
Revisado: 01-31-25
This was the best story I’ve heard since getting audible several years ago. I know the reader isn’t everyone’s favorite but I found that if I sped it up a little it was easier to listen to, and let’s face it, anything is better than AI reading to us!
The storyline was engaging and kept me interested. I didn’t want to stop listening!

Historia
Lady Charlotte Featherington is destined for great things on the marriage market. After all, as the beautiful daughter of a marquess, she should have her pick of the eligible nobility when she debuts. She, however, has love at the top of her list of marriageable attributes. And her romantic heart falls hard for one particularly dashing, attentive suitor. Sadly for Charlotte, her noble father intends her betrothed to be someone far more dull. William Hartwell may be a duke, but he knows he was Charlotte's father's pick, not the young lady's own choice.

Good story line, annoying main character
Revisado: 10-13-24
This story was well written, I only have one complaint, why in the world does Charlotte, the main female character sound like Minnie Mouse. Her voice was grading and I almost couldn’t finish the book. I understand if you need to write in people with annoying high pitched voices but it didn’t make you want to root for her as the lead.

Historia
Olivia Wilde has resigned herself to never finding a love match. Her father has insisted she marry a man with a title, if only to increase his own standing and reputation in society. But the men her father deems acceptable are, at best, boring and uninspiring, and at worse, are as brutish as her father and are only looking to increase their own diminishing coffers. With her future looking dismal, Olivia decides to enjoy the last few months of freedom with her childhood friends, including the handsome Emerson Latham.

Slow moving, boring, disconnect with characters
Revisado: 10-08-24
I love this genre and will put up with a lot to not have to use a credit but this just dragged on and on. It was uninteresting and possibly because it took place in ballrooms 90% of the time. The narrator is my least favorite out there so that didn’t help.

For the love of all that’s good, please teach the narrator how to pronounce words…
Revisado: 04-24-24
The story is so-so, the writing and dialogue pretty blah but it doesn’t help that the narrators inflections and word pronunciation is absolutely second rate. I feel like I’m listening to a 2nd grader read with how bad she reads…the lack of an interesting storyline would go much smoother with someone who actually knows how to read.

Loved this series!
Revisado: 10-15-23
I am a fan of all (clean) historical fiction audiobooks, but sometimes the writing can be missing something and the readers voice can grate on me. Of all the audiobooks I’ve heard I have to say Roseanna M. White is my favorite author and Liz Pearce does such an amazing job with so many characters and different language inflections. She’s fantastic!

My favorite Julie Klassen book so far
Revisado: 06-09-23
This book captivates you from the beginning and you really cannot predict its ending. It was well written and clean but still with romance, which is rare these days.
James Gillies did a great job narrating, I was unsure if I would like a man reading an audio book but it was really well done.
