Being a practicing forensic psychologist, I am comforted by Kellerman’s 100% accuracy on the psychological info. This story, in particular, was especially riveting.

Terribly written. The plot drags on and on and could conclude quicker . Wimpy character. I will not go further in series.

One reader Said that the book was overrated. I totally disagree in that it was a masterful amalgamation of science, adventure, and the political influence on space travel. It was also an homage to the astronauts who brave unparalleled danger to explore the universe. Well done Andy Weir.

Would you listen to Welcome to the World, Baby Girl again? Why?

This was a wonderful book, but when I looked at the info again and saw that it was ABRIDGED, I thought why? Why would Audible be so ridiculous and even begin to sell only an ABRIDGED version of this book. I did not see an unabridged and am so disappointed in Audible and the producers of this book. Give me a break. I just finished Washington, A life - 42 hours and was thrilled. Then I find that ridiculous Audible produces an ABRIDGED version of the fabulous book. You should be ashamed!

Would you try another book from Henning Mankell and/or Cassandra Campbell?

This was the 11th book I read in a row by Mankell. This reader was so poor that she read it like this was a story about the angst of a misunderstood and petulant teenager separating from her always-angry (in her eyes) father. I finished the book because I love Mankell so much, but had this been my first, rather than my 11th, book, I would not have done so.

During the course of listening to the book, I wondered at times whether Mankell had actually written it? At some times it was more James Patterson-like and not at all like the complicated and insightful Mankell. I have told all of my buddies who listen to books to skip this one due to Campbell. However, it may have read a lot better without Campbell's interference. So among my friends who only read, I told them to let me know how it fared without the butchering by Campbell.

Would you ever listen to anything by Henning Mankell again?

Yes I have read 11 and am on my 12th: The Trouble Man.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Kurt Wallender with every sentence was portrayed as angry - always angry.
Linda was read, almost without exception, as a whining teenager who is consistently being misunderstood. Campbell has the range of two emotions: angry (men) and whining (women)

I would avoid Campbell at every turn. I did recognize her voice and went to see where I had heard her before. It was in her part in the Help, which was not bad. However, she should never, ever be given a "major role" like this again.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

All of the above but towards the reader! The story was not bad.

Any additional comments?

I am now reading The Troubled Man and am thrilled to be hearing the mastery of Robin Sachs!!

If you could sum up Caught in the Light in three words, what would they be?

This is one book that just cannot be summed up in three words!

What did you like best about this story?

This is a powerful story of attachment, loss, and idealized love.It underscores for the reader how enduring and destructive revenge can be. It also demonstrated the role that unequal marital relationships can play in crushing creativity and achievement. This is the 6th Goddard book I have listened to in the last few months. They are all excellent in different ways, but this one was the first that prompted me to write a review!

Have you listened to any of Michael Kitchen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't think I have heard Michael Kitchen before, but in the hundreds of audible books I have listened to, I think he is the best narrator thus far. He is so good that you never notice the narration - you feel you are listening to the different characters as they speak. Fantastic.

If you could rename Caught in the Light, what would you call it?

I think this was the perfect name for the novel in view of the number of the meanings that it pulls from the story.

Any additional comments?

Audible needs to purchase more Goddard books! I am almost done with the ones you currently have.

I almost passed this one over except for someone saying that they too almost passed it up but were so happy they didn't. I couldn't stop listening but had to pace myself in fear of the end and I dreaded that moment. I so envy the first time reader! I fell in love with the characters and truly hated some- and i love that i was able to experience that, it's rare for me. The writing didn't feel forced, it was so natural and the flow was smooth. Her metaphors were so creative and fresh. I am a very picky reader and I was engulfed in every life in the book; every experience I was there through my mind's eye. If you don't read this you are missing such a beautiful experience that will last you a lifetime. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!
