Historia
Sophronia continues her second year at finishing school in style - with a steel-bladed fan secreted in the folds of her ball gown, of course. Such a fashionable choice of weapon comes in handy when Sophronia, her best friend Dimity, sweet sootie Soap, and the charming Lord Felix Mersey stowaway on a train to return their classmate Sidheag to her werewolf pack in Scotland. No one suspected what - or who - they would find aboard that suspiciously empty train.

western dystopian
Revisado: 04-17-24
I enjoyed the voice actors and the story! unique twist by altering outcomes from history to create new "world" . . I was hesitant as I am not a "western" fan... however I was pleasantly surprised and captivated and entertained and now look forward to reading more in this series...
author has her unique style and creative stories... that captivated me to read the Sookie Stackhouse series and watch all of the TruBlood series... I enjoy her ability to portray various characters especially her descriptive ability to capture almost "realistic" and relatable "normal lives" "average people" ....

everyone should listen to this book!
Revisado: 03-03-24
everyone should listen to this book!! it was so beautifully written... and told as "tell me a story" the amazing symbolism l, and attention to detail... the descriptions of the surroundings, nature, and life through the children's eyes ... the family struggles... the ugly harsh reality of enduring through the unbelievable yet holding on to their humanity, civility, and love for life..... this story touched my heart and was not what I expected...
it was better! I enjoyed how the author wove into the story various other tales and like the heron and fox or the other stories ...
the birthday gifts... the beautiful history and symbolism of the Ukrainian eggs.... the
thank you for creating such a beautiful story that is appropriate for younger students and people of all ages about thr e Holocaust... and the will to survive!!
I am a fan of historical fiction genre... and am amazed at the talent and ability an author has to be able to piece together and create such a brilliant story that combines many real experiences from real people during a historical time and create such a compelling and "can't put the book down" story....
what a beautiful story of such an ugly time in history...
thank you !

We live in a close-knit community. Thirty houses surrounding a square of garden that is perfect for our kids. We congregate here on major holidays, each family bringing a plate and sharing food and conversation. It’s in the garden that I first met her. The woman who would worm her way into my family and piece by piece tear it apart.

horrible narrators
Revisado: 02-12-24
the newscaster voice did not fit the character, the story, .. and actually had the story not been good, I wouldn't have endured the horrible audible narrations..
please don't use the newscaster voice while narrating an audible story!!! unless you are playing a newscaster on TV or radio or npr.... it really is not enjoyable and annoying to listen to..
the story was good, twisted, and had a few surprises and unexpected omg moments....
it was painful to have to endure the bad narrators...

Kiwi apocalypse
Revisado: 01-28-24
Kiwi Apocalypse..Traditional Maori warriors for the win!
I enjoyed this. btw. this is not my usual fiction genre to read/ listen... and I was very pleasantly surprised..
the author is extremely descriptive and detailed the setting and scenes especially of the beautiful natural beauty and unique terrain and geography that make up New Zealand... For this reason, I was swept away across the world and pacific ocean picturing the serenity and beauty through the eyes of the main character during his hiking trip..
the 3 books, as this was a trilogy continued to not disappoint with amazing and very descriptive details of various real locations.... I especially enjoyed learning more about the Maori, and the "Kiwi" New Zealanders, traditions, culture, and the history!!
I liked that the character interactions and that the author made them real people .. not just typical "stereotypes"..
this was not the typical "zombie" or virus... story.. and it was frightening and believable..
I enjoyed the science research twists.. and had expected the "mad evil white Researcher" to be related to a character.. would have enjoyed to hear more of that diabolical storyline...
the story was suspenseful and full of a few good surprises...
