Historia
Vinas Solamnus: soldier, nobleman, priest. Vinas Solamnus: rebel, commander, conqueror. Vinas Solamnus: author of The Oath and the measure and founder of the Solamnic Knights. No knight was ever nobler, more spiritual, more idealistic than Vinas Solamnus...but he wasn't always that way. The story of his early years, his education, and his crucible is truly one of the most famous....

Quite bad execution of a plot with good potential
Revisado: 12-24-23
The main story plot has a great potential - the founder of Knights of Solamnia had to take a long and painful way to learn what is honor. However the writing did capitalize on this great story. The motivations of individual changes in Vinuses personality are breezed over withought much explanation. For Dragonlance fans like myself it is worth reading but I would not recommend it to others.
I have read another book from the author, Edge of Destiny, and it suffers from similar problems.

Great insight to functioning and history of EU
Revisado: 06-03-23
The European union has a complicated structure. This book covers the political concepts, theories and practices used in the EU as well as the historical circumstances.
It is a hard listen with a lot of tables and abreviations. For me as a person listening just out of curiosity it was manageable. If you want to catch everything and stop and ponder, I would recomend other than audiobook format.

Historia
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Postwar by Tony Judt, read by Ralph Cosham. Tracing the story of postwar Europe and its changing role in the world, Judt's magnificent history of the continent of our times investigates the political, social and cultural history of Europe from the wreckage of postwar Europe to the expansion of the EU into the former Soviet empire. Judt's stress is on the continent as a whole, from Greece to Norway, from Portugal to Russia.

Unbiased overview of European postwar history
Revisado: 05-02-20
I was not very knowledgable in post war European history and this book was a great source of information. I read it from cover to cover and even bought a paper version of it.
I was surprised that the author is not biased at all. It is an intense reading full of facts and names. It helped me to understand where many contemporary problems started as well as connect many dots in history of my country (Czechia).
