Historia
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

Great story, great narrating except .......
Revisado: 08-24-23
Andy did fantastic except for Gollum's voice. I know its from the movie, and works there, but on audio, it becomes very obnoxious and irritating.

Good narrating, horrible background noises.
Revisado: 05-27-22
Story was pretty good. Narrators were pretty good. The female narrators often whispered, which makes it hard to hear, especially when there was background noises and effects. The segments of random hipster music were truly annoying.
You will find yourself constantly turning the volume up and down with the constant fluctuations in sounds and whispering.

Great book/bad narration
Revisado: 07-18-19
Its great, love it, but the narration is horrendous on audible. The girl reading it is doing this half talking / half whispering that is really irritating. And i have found that I really dont like female narrators. They are really bad at male characters. They all sound the same, and for some reason. most female narrators use this snarky tone for all males. Like they all sound like old, homeless snarky people.

“It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born". An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued, and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. Very wordy but a good read.
Revisado: 02-26-19
One of the first things i need to get off my chest, are the errors with firearms and firearm terminology. 10 mins of research could have fixed this. The FBI started carrying Glock pistols around 1998. Not Springfield .45's. Even the description of Springfield is incorrect. (Tungsten and titanium ?? )
Magazines ! Not "clips". Its just lazy writing to say clips.
US MIL do not carry / use RPG's as described in the book. Especially the RPG 29 soviet era model.
Story is good, easy to follow. Author does drone on for periods of time though. I found it irritating that the secretive military research unit is conducting highly sensitive operations / research with known criminals performing janitor duties ? Who easily botched the entire thing ? If the facility had 4 levels, how did the vampires get out so easily through levels 3,2,1 ...huh ?
Scott Brick is good, but he often has a swarmy / snarky infliction which can change characters true personalities.

Revisado: 04-05-13
What did you love best about Rise Again?
The story itself was pretty good.
What did you like best about this story?
Good storyline
Any additional comments?
Really did not like the main characters personality. This was not a love/ hate type either. The character was asexual, hardass, illogical and annoying all in one. I also found the paramilitary contractors to be old and over used. For some reason, hollywood, writers, authors , TV feels the need to make them out be mindless, steroid filled idiots. This is FAR from the truth and only hurts the storyline.
