Recording doesn’t match the side notes as you follow along. Overall does not distract from an easy fun read with my child.

Disclaimer: I was recommended this book.

Let me sum this up for you and give you the apple of knowledge right from the branch for I am your enemy…

First, it literally starts with a sales pitch for seminars given by the author.

Adam lost his masculinity by standing by Eve’s side when she took the apple and didn’t tell her to stop. We carry that lost chance to be a “man”.

There are a few moments where there is a hint of a good point when the author takes a weird turn to point out what you are lacking in masculinity. He talks about his own life and misses moments where he was genuinely masculine but he doesn’t even see it, calling himself a wussy.

He isn’t even considering how brave some people are because he is too hung up on pushing his faith on the listener and these other people do not fit within his faith.

This book was written to sell you a solution to your problems. Let me tell you. Find your faults, work on them. Listen to those you don’t like (as I am doing right now) and grow. It’s not easy, you are going to feel less of a person after reading or listening to this book. You are strong. You can love. You don’t have to answer to anyone. You will be your own man, as long as you are true to yourself and believe you are where you are suppose to be at this moment for a reason.

I’ve dove with sharks, walked among bear & moose, I’ve been in the wilderness and grew up doing stupid things and worked multiple in careers. Live your life the best you can. Be excited over the smallest things & moments. Your size doesn’t matter, your wealth doesn’t matter, your orientation doesn’t matter. Don’t live with fear in your heart, but love instead. It doesn’t mean you can’t be mad, or frustrated, or depressed, or confused. You do you, don’t harm anyone, and love what you have and share what you can. We are all struggling and need a helping hand from time to time.

I’ve never felt the need to shut off my audible and purge my stomach. This book made me doubt myself more because I haven’t lived ever thinking the way this author does. He will do more harm to your soul, with words that bait you into thinking you can obtain things you already have. If you’re reading this review, you can do this, you don’t need this book to tell you that.

A battle to fight, a beauty to rescue, an adventure to live. These are the 3 main ingredients to living your best life per this book.

The world (me/everyone else), the flesh (you), the enemy/Satan (definitely not your conscience or your poor choices you make). These are what we are up against everyday, trying to make us doubt we are men. I mean, you don’t have to take my word for it, but it’s how I felt listening to it. Haters gonna say it’s the Devil tricking me, or I’m a poser, or that I should pray more. I don't need a middle man to talk to me about God.

The book has multiple solicitations within the text. I mean he’s selling these ideas to people unsure of their paths or what they have strayed away from. He’s never raised a daughter. Blames others so his listeners can have a scapegoat to their problems. I don’t know why he doesn’t try to understand others which is what Jesus would want him to do.

He uses a Q&A to cover his tracks and protect himself from liability. There are questions from “women” and they don’t even have a feminine voice for the recording, what's that all about?

Be a good person, don’t be a jerk. You are strong and you don’t need to prove it. Best of luck to you (reader). And to John Eldredge I forgive you, please consider the damage you have done.

Enjoyed best when unspoiled. Some questions answered, some questions left. The trilogy was narrated by decent readers. Audio quality only broke in minor occurrences that didn’t break the scene for me. If anything it made me question reality again.

If you find the unknown of interest to you, give this book a listen. Dates, Locations, and Names have been provided for one’s own research into many of these reports. As a skeptic I enjoyed listening to the eye witness accounts and forming my own opinions on the topics. While the reading can be dry at times the subject matter is always changing so you won’t be stuck on a topic too long. There is some mature themes in this book so beware for younger readers. Will listen to this as reference in the future for sure.

I've always wondered about the ideals behind the New Testament and it's history. Well worth a download.

I've found myself in a point in my life where I don't know what I believe anymore. My need for understanding the Bible was probably my biggest fear. These lectures by Prof. Amy-Jill Levine have helped me acquire a better grasp of the material for the Old Testament's true intentional use. I've gained a new insight to the book and have become re-interested in reading the Bible. I enjoy hearing Prof. Levine speak her opinion from time to time in the lectures, it helps lighten the serious subject matter. Great for beginners and the curious.
