When Izzy Astor gets on a plane to go home, she isn’t expecting much. It’s the usual holiday travel experience: busy, crowded, stressful. Then she spots her seatmate, who is anything but ordinary. Nate Phelan sports dark hair, blue eyes, and a deliciously rugged charm that Izzy can’t resist. Their connection is undeniable. Izzy never believed in destiny before, but she does now. Just ninety seconds after takeoff, their plane goes down in the Missouri River.

Historia
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Good, but not what I was hoping for
Revisado: 11-01-23
I absolutely loved the Year One series and The Awakening series. This was ok, just not my typical book that I like to read.

When Amon and Lily part tragically, he transports himself to the Netherworld - what mortals call hell. Narrator issues
Revisado: 05-09-23
The narrator is unable to change her voice between characters. What little bit she could do did not help the story. Mom thanks

Historia
Like many couples, Michael and Jolene Zarkades have to face the pressures of everyday life—children, careers, bills, chores—even as their twelve-year marriage is falling apart. Then a deployment sends Jolene deep into harm's way and leaves defense attorney Michael at home, unaccustomed to being a single parent to their two girls. As a mother, it agonizes Jolene to leave her family, but as a solider, she has always understood the true meaning of duty. In her letters home, she paints a rose-colored version of her life on the front lines, shielding her family from the truth.

Good story, poorly narrated
Revisado: 11-11-18
Great story, but this narrator does not have the correct sound for children. I grimaced every time she changed her voice to sound like one of the kids. She sounds great for the adult parts and basic narration, but should not take on a book with children's voices.
