The final book - Chef Kiss! 💋
Revisado: 11-01-24
The Ending made it All worthwhile!
Some authors get lost, and make promises that they don't deliver on... NOT THIS TME, BABY!
Every single promise, delivered. So Satisfying. And The Emperor and his new clothes moment was so funny and perfect! Worth everything!
(took off a star for the pronunciation of the name of the king. You know what I mean.)
Five stars for the story, ten out of ten. Don't worry, it all come out in the end.

Terry Pratchett is always wonderful. Why the music?
Revisado: 08-23-24
I love Terry Pratchett books, and this is another gem. The audio reader is also fantastic. However, whoever decided they should put tinkly music at a loud volume in between random chapters should be given a stern talking to.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Another Completely Awesome Book by Andy Weir
Revisado: 06-13-24
I love the competence of the main character, and the supporting characters too! Rosario Dawson did a bang-up job with the voice acting. I completely forgot it was just one person doing all the voices. Totally Brilliant!

Historia
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

Great, fun writing style, not too dark. Loved the voice actor too, what a lovely voice!. And the sound studio work was perfect. No spikes of volume or weird added sound effects. five stars! Ten out of ten.

Historia
The year is 2108, and the North American Commonwealth is bursting at the seams. For welfare rats like Andrew Grayson, there are only two ways out of the crime-ridden and filthy welfare tenements: You can hope to win the lottery and draw a ticket on a colony ship settling off-world...or you can join the service. With the colony lottery a pipe dream, Andrew chooses to enlist in the armed forces for a shot at real food, a retirement bonus, and maybe a ticket off Earth.

Historia
The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

Historia
I don't publicly advertise that I'm a mage, but I don't exactly hide it either, and one of the odd things I've learnt over the years is just how much you can get away with if you're blatant enough. Hide something behind smoke and mirrors and make people work to find it, and they'll tear the place down looking for what's there. Alex Verus is a diviner who can see probable futures-a talent that's gotten him out of many a tough scrape. But this time, he may be in over his head. Alex was once apprenticed to a Dark mage, and in his service he did a lot of things he isn't proud of.

Revisado: 11-22-22
Love the story, love the voice actor (always lovely to find both in one place!) the only fly in the ointment was that, especially late in the story, when the characters shout, for some reason the audio team chose to jack up the volume on those lines. So my earbud is suddenly damaging my hearing on the shouted lines. Why!? Anyway, great book, great actor. Two thumbs up!
