Reading speed off?

Ok so am I the only one that felt like listening to it at 1X felt like it was chopped and horrible? I turned it to 0.9X and that fixed it for me. Otherwise I would have returned it...anyway if it feels like someone is running a marathon reading a book try doing that.
This is the first time I ever had to adjust any book reading speed and I cannot say how thankful I am for the feature.

The book itself is decent. Yes there is a lot it’ll teenage angst and such but as it’s a ‘highschool’ type story that is what I pretty much expected. If that is not your thing you will probably not like it that much.
Overall I liked the book and got the second one as well.

Bizarre !

This book when you purchase it seems like it will download in one swoop but instead once you purchase it you have a bunch of different downloads. It seems to be per chapter but I'm not sure!!!!!! If you want this to study along with the book don't bother getting it! It does not show you which chapter is playing before you select it so you will have to download all of them and just click through them until you find the chapter you need. Absolutely pointless! Dumbest way to publish a book especially a text book! Frustrating to say the least!

Painful

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This was a painful story to listen to. It felt so slow and painful, the narration was horrible (in my opinion). The narrators NORMAL voice was fine and pleasant but once she goes into the different characters they all sound like 1st graders, and not in an adorable funny kind of way! If there was something I could change I'd say the author should have put it aside for a month and read over it again, but with that being said-maybe if I would have read the book and not have listened to it, maybe just maybe that would have been better.

Has Not That Kind of Girl turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not from the genre. One bad book doesn't make the entire genre horrible

Did Emma Meltzer do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes you can hear the difference... but they are all made to sound like 1st graders.

Was Not That Kind of Girl worth the listening time?

No it was not

Nasal reading (I think it was done on purpose) The sound of the narrators voice when reading in her most natural voice is pleasant but once she is going into certain characters I just got turned off. Maybe she just made Autumn and Spencer sound ridiculous but that is what stuck out to me the most.
ARGH I am so sad this book had so much potential ( or the narration had potential... I may give the book a read and try to not have the nasal 1st grader voices in my head)

The voice of the narrator was pleasant but I really didn't like the way she switched between characters, and thoughts, and actual talking... to me it felt weird
