Historia
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Wonderfully Terrifying!!
Revisado: 02-02-19
I cannot believe I have gone my entire life without reading this book! The dramatization of the audio reading definitely enhanced the fright factor!

Historia
Even during the holidays, Shannon is more spackle than sparkle, which is why she leaps at the chance to transform a grand old Victorian mansion into 10 charming apartments for homeless families. Filled with the spirit of the season, all of Lighthouse Cove turns out to help - including her best friends, a troupe of far-from-angelic Santa Claus impersonators, and her father, Jack. But their merriment is soon dashed by a heated scuffle between Jack and the miserly president of the bank who's backing the project.

Why is there a new narrator?
Revisado: 07-18-18
I love this series and was very excited to start this book. Two minutes into it I realized something is not right. Five minutes into it I realized this is not the same narrator as the previous books. I have made it 34 minutes into the book and I honestly do not think I can go any further. Alex Barrett may be good for other stories, but not this one! Awful!

Just Awful
Revisado: 10-02-15
What would have made Etta Mae's Worst Bad-Luck Day better?
It would have been better if Cynthia Darlow had been the narrator. However, not much could have helped this book.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I really do not know. The book was awful. The change in the narrator made the character totally different. The storyline was okay. I just did not enjoy Etta Mae as the main focus of the book.
What didn’t you like about Julia Gibson’s performance?
Her performance was not bad. However, the character of Etta Mae has already been established by Darlow. Changing the narrator made Etta Mae an entirely different person.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Etta Mae's Worst Bad-Luck Day?
I would have cut the part of her wearing the same nasty dress for 2 days.
Any additional comments?
Ms. Ross- please do not do this again. This book did not make Etta Mae more endearing to the reader. I have liked her character in the books I have listened to so far, but I am not sure if it will be the same for future books.

Historia
It is a tale of ghosts, of madness, of revenge - of old alliances giving way to new intrigues. Denmark is changing, shaking off its medieval past. War with Norway is on the horizon. And Hamlet - son of the old king, nephew of the new - becomes increasingly entangled in a web of deception - and murder. Beautifully performed by actor Richard Armitage ("Thorin Oakenshield" in the Hobbit films), Hamlet, Prince of Denmark takes Shakespeare’s original into unexpected realms, reinventing a story we thought we knew.

Historia
After five hectic years of retirement from Lord's Chapel, Father Tim Kavanagh returns with his wife, Cynthia, from a so-called pleasure trip to the land of his Irish ancestors. While glad to be at home in Mitford, something is definitely missing: a pulpit. But when he's offered one, he decides he doesn't want it. Maybe he's lost his passion. His adopted son, Dooley, wrestles with his own passion - for the beautiful and gifted Lace Turner, and his vision to become a successful country vet.

The Best in the Series!
Revisado: 11-07-14
What did you love best about Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good?
First, I am so excited to have another book in this series. Ms. Karon's novels are some of my favorite reads. This book is one of the best in the Mitford series. I love the depth of the characters. I love the way Ms. Karon uses the characters and the story to fill readers with an overwhelming sense of God's presence and His grace and mercy.
What did you like best about this story?
I really cannot say. The entire story is just so wonderful. Out of all the authors I read, I want another book from Jan Karon more than from any of the others.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved the story line of Father Tim working in the bookstore and all of the lives he touched and the people he ministered to while working there.
Who was the most memorable character of Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good and why?
Lace! She is a beautiful and wise young woman in this book.
Any additional comments?
More Mitford, please!!!!

Will it ever end!?!?
Revisado: 08-29-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Yes. I love Burke. He is one of the best story tellers I have ever read. I always look forward to his next work. HOWEVER- this book is just tedious! The story line is not good. I found myself dreading to read, but I was determined to finish. If the next book in this series is no better, I will be done. This is the first time that I am not eagerly waiting for the next book. :(
Would you recommend Light of the World to your friends? Why or why not?
No. I would not want them to base their opinion of Burke as an author on this book.
Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Will Patton is amazing.
Could you see Light of the World being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No way. Bury it in the back yard and pretend it never happened.
Any additional comments?
Anyone following this series is going to read this book. However, if you are new to Burke, I do not recommend this.

Sure.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Wicked Business?
The entire plot.
