Great little story

Entertaining enough to listen during my commute to work. The narrator was great. The story was engaging enough. The main character is affable.

Historia
Freelance writer Jaine Austen has never been able to resist the siren call of an Eskimo Pie, just like she can't resist renewing her romance with Andrew, an old crush. With her bank account hitting new lows, she's also just agreed to write jokes for Dorcas, a stand-up comic who throws her pantyhose into the audience as a punch line.

Funny w a good mystery mixed in.
Revisado: 04-14-24
Warning. If you are overweight all the weight bashing might get annoying- heck! Even if you aren’t overweight it might be annoying. Despite the slightly obnoxious whining without ever doing anything to fix it and stereotyping that you are overweight because you do things like eat fast food and a container of ice cream everyday. However, if you get past it, it’s entertaining. The heroine is funny with lots of mystery gold for this willing to pan for it.

Historia
Jaine's accepted her share of lame gigs to pay the bills, but rewriting Shakespeare's got to be an all-time low. The fiasco begins with a call from Jaine's high-school nemesis, uber rich uber witch Patti Devane. It seems Patti will soon be sashaying down the aisle with another former classmate from Hermosa High, and she'd like the exchange of vows to evoke Romeo and Juliet...except without the "downer" of an ending.

I love the narrator. She’s terrific! I’ve been listening from Book 1. As a result the jokes about the Cocoa Puffs shirt are getting old as is references to her cellulite thighs. The weight bashing gets cringy. Overall it’s entertaining. Just bored with the the reoccurring bashing and the one shirt she always seems to be wearing. Good twist in this one. Keeps you guessing!

Entertaining. Good listening.
Revisado: 04-12-24
The reader was great. Her voice was pleasant to listen to. Her different character voices made dialogue easy to follow. The story was very engaging and you got an inside look at public news television without it coming across like boring how to book. Lots of action and plot twists to keep it interesting. Our main character isn’t perfect and is relatable. This was the author’s first book and looking forward to the next installment.

Jaine still hasn't found a good man - or a way to keep all those sugary snacks from going straight to her hips. But - with a little help from her best friend Kandi-she's finally landed a gig as a sitcom writer! True, Muffy 'n Me (a.k.a. "Bewitched with Tits") isn't going to win any Emmys. And her office at Miracle Studios needs a little sprucing up, and a few dozen rat traps. But it sure beats writing boring brochures and bad resumes, so Jaine's not complaining. Until the plot thickens - with murder....

Revisado: 03-15-24
Super narrator brings a sometimes annoying, whiny character to life. The story is good. Jaine can be annoying and the clues are sometimes too obvious but overall entertaining.

Great light read…errr…listen!
Revisado: 09-19-23
I’m a fan of the Hannah Swensen Mystery movies on Hallmark and decided to explore the book series while waiting for the next movie. Despot this being one of the movies and ultimately knowing “who dunnit” in advance, I found this super enjoyable to listen. The characters are in some cases very different and in all cases much more rich and multidimensional. As much as I love Alison Sweeney, I enjoyed the author’s Hannah just as much.
The narrator is awesome. She does all the voices perfectly so you don’t get mixed up.
Joanne Fluke is a very descriptive author but her description of Betty was a little cringy. And her description of make takes me back to the late 60s/early 70s. So I chose to envision Cameron Mathison. Guys with mustaches and muscles just don’t do it for me.

Good story and Awesome Narrator
Revisado: 07-26-23
The story was good but the narrator made it! I had a hard time remembering that it was one person voicing all the characters. She was fantastic!!!! The characters were rich, the narration excellent and the story (though a little implausible) was still good. It was enjoyable. An easy listening, engrossing story.

You'd think that being chief seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn't mean that you don't have to do things the hard way. That's why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping through time - even though she doesn't entirely understand her dimension-bending new power.

New narrator no bueno!
Revisado: 06-22-22
I love the Cassandra Palmer books and love following up reading them by listening to the audiobooks. I loved Alyson’s narrations. Then it changed to Jorgeana who was ok but this newest narrator is pretty horrible. It’s not Cassie’s voice all. It’s missing her sassy attitude and lacks oomph. The woman reading the story seems to just be reading line from line without any emotion. It’s Blah! Bring back Allyson Ryan!!!!!

Historia
I believe in love. It just doesn’t believe in me. I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one. Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest, and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them, just to check they’re real. Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune? But when I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage.

Cute story-but predictable
Revisado: 10-13-21
The male character had a good narration the female’s voice had an annoyingly high pitch. The story got off to a slow start and the got a little better before veering off again. It wasn’t the best book I’ve heard, but it wasn’t awful. It was just ok. I think had the female voice not been so irritating I would have enjoyed it a little more.
