Historia
After years of service in the Royal Navy, Lieutenant Alexis Carew finds herself adrift—physically and emotionally—on her homeworld of Dalthus IV. Haunted by injuries and political intrigue from her last mission, Alexis struggles to reclaim the precision and strength that once made her a formidable officer. But even the peace of a quiet retreat proves elusive when shadowy threats from her past resurface. Summoned by the Queen herself, Alexis is thrust back into the heart of interstellar danger and royal politics.

Alexis Carew is BACK!!
Revisado: 04-21-25
I'm sooo excited that Alexis Carew is back! I've been hoping there would be more novels after the Queen decided to Knight her in the last book. I can't wait to get the next one!

Historia
Jordan McKell has a problem with authority. Unfortunately for him, the iron-fisted authority of the powerful Patthaaunutth controls virtually every aspect of galactic shipping. In order to survive, Jordan ekes out a living dabbling in interstellar smuggling for outlaw concerns that represent the last vestiges of free trade in the galaxy. So when Jordan and his partner, Ixil - an alien with two ferret-like "outhunters" linked to his neural system - are hired by a mysterious gentleman to fly a ship and its special cargo to Earth, they jump at the job.

Riveting plot with a stellar narrator!
Revisado: 10-11-24
Once again Timothy hits it out of the ballpark! I can't get enough of his intricately layered plots and diverse World building. He brings something that's sorely needed to sci-fi with nuanced character building and a compelling story that continues to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last few minutes. I also love the performance of Mark Thompson! He will always be the voice of Grand Admiral Thrawn in my mind. He adds a whole another dimension to the characters with his deep repertoire of voices, and each Voice or accent perfectly captures the character as Zahn intended it. I love that he kept the same voice of Jordan as the rest of the Icarus Plot Books. Some narrators lose continuity between books but he does not.

Historia
There wasn’t much money to be made as a Trailblazer, searching out new worlds for possible development. Still, it was safer than the bounty hunter career that had cost Gregory Roarke his left arm six years ago. And thanks to his Kadolian partner Selene’s ultrasensitive sense of smell, they occasionally discovered a medically promising seed or spore they could sell under the table. It was a quiet life, uneventful and mostly legal. Until Roarke was approached by two men with a proposal: track down a mysterious woman named Tera and, through her, locate a secret project called Icarus.

Historia
The human powers have been pushed to the brink, battered, and almost destroyed. The virus they have invented and deployed, their sole possibility for victory, seems to be too little, too late. Its usage has only spurred the enemy to quicker action, to finish the war before they have to deal with its effects. But the humans do not know that the Highborn are faced on another front, by a race they know little about but have battled for two centuries.

Had to Fast Forward Most of the book
Revisado: 06-30-23
Very dull story telling. It's an interesting story but I skipped most of it and still didn't miss any plot details. it's just poor editing. The characters repeat themselves over and over and over...
Good voice performance but it's hard to make it compelling with such a repeating dialog. in 18 books there has been very little to no character development either. The main character got married, had a daughter, and other than that he is exactly the same person in all 18 books in the exact same rediculously dire situation.

In the aftermath of the costly victory, chaos threatens as worlds leave the Commonwealth of Planets, face mass starvation or succumb to increased piracy. The war against the Swarm Imperium has just begun. Humanity needs unity or each planet will fall alone. Brigadier O'Hara of Star Watch Intelligence stumbles onto a secret conspiracy. Someone is trying to destroy the Commonwealth from within, and they have an alien artifact of incredible power. O'Hara summons Captain Maddox. Although she fears to lose him, she knows that Maddox and his crew have the best chance of finding the hidden enemy. If the captain fails, the Commonwealth will be powerless to stop its destruction.

Poorly Written
Revisado: 06-06-18
This book has more plot holes than a block of Swiss cheese. It's frustrating to read. the premise is interesting, but the execution is awful. The characters are contradictory and make no sense, even after you know their personality. Captain Madox is the worst. He is everything a captain should not be.

Half-baked Garbage
Revisado: 12-05-17
This book and all the other books of the Ember War Saga were a waste of my time. I'll admit there were some good parts, and sometimes I felt like I was really enjoying the story. Then, the quality of the story would just fall apart. Foe one thing there was a terrible voice performance of Stacy. There were also just too many inconsistencies and plot holes. It was like the Author was going in one direction, and then he decided to change heard with out adjusting the material that was all ready written, like the Corrupted Procies. At one point there were thousands of sleeper agents waiting to be activated, then they just never showed up in the rest of the book. The story was a little to existential for my taste. The whole theme rotated around immortality. Overall, I would chalk this one up as cheap cheesy sci with the usual faults of poor character development, plot holes, and inconsistent fictional universe.

Historia
For Lieutenant Alexis Carew, it should be the perfect assignment - a command of her own and a chance to return to her home star system. What she finds is a surly crew, the dregs of every frigate and ship of the line to pass through on the way to the war's front, a first officer who thinks the command should have been his, and colonial worlds where they believe a girl's place is somewhere very different than command of a Queen's starship.
