There is an Anti-morphing ray out there. It's purpose: to cause a person in morph to revert to his natural form. And the Yeerks have done a very good job in hiding it. Word from the Chee that the Yeerks are ready to test the weapon. Just one problem: They don't have a test subject. Yes, they could have Visser Three go into morph and them hit him with the ray. But Yeerk scientists say there's a definite chance that the ray will prove fatal. The Visser isn't volunteering.

Amazing Narration

The voice actor nailed it! Animorphs was my favorite book series as a kid, and it's even better as an adult. I was hesitant to switch to the audiobook format, but I am glad I did!

Good, but a bit nihilistic
Revisado: 12-23-22
The story can be very confusing at times, but has a lot of interesting elements. I don't particularly like the elements that are dark just for the sake of being dark. That said, again, the story has a lot of interesting ideas.

Historia
For over a decade, philosopher and energy expert Alex Epstein has predicted that any negative impacts of fossil fuel use on our climate will be outweighed by the unique benefits of fossil fuels to human flourishing--including their unrivaled ability to provide low-cost, reliable energy to billions of people around the world, especially the world’s poorest people. And contrary to what we hear from media “experts” about today’s “renewable revolution” and “climate emergency,” reality has proven Epstein right.

Epstein Brings It Again
Revisado: 06-29-22
As someone with a career in science, I greatly appreciate this work. Epstein has helped me to think of technology in terms of cost-benefit analysis, and to consider all aspects of any given issue. In my experience, most scientists do not think objectively about these issues. We need more practical philosophers to teach people how to apply Philosophy, including logic and epistemology, to the real world.

Wasted Opportunity
Revisado: 11-19-21
Amature writing. Lacks depth and plot. Too far into SJW weeds. Basically the book started off exciting, and the idea of a young and sexy Bruce Wayne had a lot of appeal, especially after the incredible Wonder Woman book in this series. But this particular book just didn't have anything special going for it. It was way too bland and predictable.
One part that really ruined it for me was Bruce Wayne being told that the police didn't shoot him just because he is white... Yet data from black economists show that there is no racial bias in police shootings at the statistical level. Also, why is a police officer drinking tea given to her by a stranger?
But okay, this is Gotham, the city of corruption, greed, apathy and malice. Even then, there was a lack of actual story. It was easy to see everything coming from 20 miles away.
Wonder Woman was objectively well-written even if you disagree with the author's social vision. Batman ... it just didn't have any depth to it at all.

Historia
Ayn Rand discusses how a writer combines abstract ideas with concrete action and description to achieve a unity of theme, plot, characterization, and style, the four essential elements of fiction. Here, too, are Rand's illuminating analyses of passages from famous writers, rewrites of scenes from her own works, and fascinating rules for building dramatic plots and characters with depth.

I highly recommend this book to authors. I've been struggling with writer's block and the advice that Rand gives is very helpful in that regard. She talks about writing purposefully and explains the psychology of writing.
If you want to learn how to write, whether you are a beginner or an expert, I highly recommend this video.

This scientific writing, which was considered to be the groundwork of evolutionary biology, presented the theory that species developed over a line of originations through a method of natural selection. It imparted evidence that the variety of life resulted from a common descent via a branching model of evolution.

Dated, but good.
Revisado: 07-22-20
There are serious flaws in Darwin’s theory, including in the modern version. He makes a huge leap in logic, claiming that Natural Selection can explain the whole of what we see on Earth. But the onus is on him and his followers to prove such a claim, not on opponents to disprove it. To this day, there are many biologists who debate the validity of this claim.
That said, the way Darwin presents his argument is refreshing. He is usually tentative in his claims, and he urges readers to investigate all sides of this issue. Beyond that, he is very interesting to read as a naturalist. I especially liked his thoughts on migration and on how living things colonize new regions.
This book is an excellent read for anyone.

Historia
The Holy Spirit inspired Jude to quote Enoch for a reason. The Ancient Book of Enoch opens by addressing those in the Tribulation period. It contains numerous prophecies about the flood and fire judgments and the two comings of the Messiah. It teaches that the Messiah is the son of God and that he will shed his blood to redeem us and even predicts the generation that this would occur.

Revisado: 06-14-20
Lacked objectivity. Needs a better translation and commentary. Jarring transitions between translation and opinion. I am all for an author giving their view and analysis, but from what I've read the translation used was not faithful to the words of the original text. Give the reader a clear objective translation of the text available, and after each passage then give commentary, instead of in the middle of a sentence. This way I can separate the text from the author's analysis and opinion and decide with my own reason what follows and what does not.

Very Well Written
Revisado: 05-06-18
I am not going to give away the plot or the premise, but this story was amazing! THIS is why we read science fiction. (And BTW, for more sensitive readers, there was a little bit of language, but you could give this book to your pastor and feel comfortable. I am amazed at the talent of this author!)
I have been writing fiction for a bit now, and I can recognize someone who really knows the craft when I see it. Not only did I love this story as a reader, but as an author, I learned a lot my example. The key to a good story is conflict, and this author has conflict in every sentence. Often this conflict is 3, 4, or even 5 way conflict. And the story was written seamlessly!
If you want to read a real masterpiece, this story is it.
