Awful narrator, difficult to listen to
Revisado: 10-15-24
Nicholas Sparks has always been one of my favorite authors but having switched to Audible a few years back he picks awful narrators and this one was especially painful - he could not switch between women / children / elderly man very well at all, and it made the book painful to listen to. The story didn’t pick up until the last 2 hours in my opinion. Not my favorite by a long shot.

Historia
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart. Until she receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.

Historia
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

Loveddddd this book, the story, characters and especially the narration. These two narrators are fantastic and I’ve loved listening to them in the past. Another slam dunk on this book from Abby, and a storyline that keeps you invested. Finished the book in 2 days bc i couldn’t stop listening. Can’t wait for the next book from Abby!

Historia
Four freshmen arrive at college from completely different worlds: Lainey, a California party girl with a flair for drama; Tyson, a brilliant scholar and aspiring lawyer from Washington, D.C.; Summer, an ambitious, recruited athlete from the Midwest; and Hannah, a mild-mannered southerner who is content to quietly round out the circle of big personalities. Soon after arriving on campus, they strike up a conversation in their shared dorm, and the seeds of friendship are planted.

Awful narration, painful to listen to
Revisado: 07-24-24
I love Emily Giffin so it pains me to write a bad review but this is by far my least favorite book of hers. The narrators, (minus Karissa Vacker who’s amazing!!) were awful and almost intolerable. Especially Lainey’s. Tyson wasn’t much better. I struggled to get through the book and was glad when it was finished. Boring story line and felt rushed at the end to tie things up. Definitely not a fan of this one. Sorry, Emily!!!!

Revisado: 06-13-23
Loved this book and story. It takes a lot to be vulnerable and share these types of stories; the authors note was humbling. Really enjoyed the narrator and will definitely look for more titles read by her. Can’t wait to dig into the next book!l that followed this.

Meh, not my favorite by Hilderbrand
Revisado: 04-05-21
Definitely not my favorite by Elin. Story was ok, but difficult to follow bc of all of the different characters / couples. Book could definitely been a few hours shorter. The narrator was easy to listen to, but she literally just read the book, she didn’t portray each character.

Great story & Narrator
Revisado: 03-24-21
I really enjoyed the story, predicable yes, but a fun, easy read. I really enjoyed the narrator and thought she did a great job. I’ll definitely look for more books narrated by her. Her swallowing sounds were magnified in spots which was a tad unnerving, but aside from that, no complaints.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. The story was easy flowing, the writer had some laugh out loud moments which were truly great, and the narrator did a great job. The story didn’t end the way I personally wanted it to, but it was a great read. Definitely one of my favorites.
