Audible (sound) quality is TERRIBLE!
Revisado: 04-25-22
The content here is perhaps the best of any radio series ever. That said, this recording is the worst I have ever experienced with Audible. In almost every program, long sequences are left inaudible as though audio was muted. Other segments have badly distorted sound.
A terrible job of quality control. I thought Audible was better than this!

Historia
In Wolves Eat Dogs, beloved detective Arkady Renko enters the privileged world of Russia's new billionaire class. The grandest of them all, a self-made powerhouse named Pasha Ivanov, has apparently leapt to his death from the palatial splendor of his ultra-modern Moscow condominium. While there are no signs pointing to homicide, there is one troubling and puzzling bit of evidence: in Ivanov's bedroom closet, there's a mountain of salt.

Weak reader, interesting story.
Revisado: 03-22-22
Probably the least compelling of all the Renko novels. Wolves eat dogs is an awkward sequel, something that feels phony compared to his better works.
Reader here was terrible. Little expression, quiet voice, no punch,

Historia
Adopting the structure and themes of the Arthurian legend, Steinbeck created a Camelot on a shabby hillside above the town of Monterey, California, and peopled it with a colorful band of knights. At the center of the tale is Danny, whose house, like Arthur’s castle, becomes a gathering place for men looking for adventure, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging—men who fiercely resist the corrupting tide of honest toil and civil rectitude.

Fun and meaningful.
Revisado: 03-22-22
John Steinbeck is the greatest fiction author this country has ever produced. Once again he takes people we ignore and shows us their whole world. With gentle good humor. With a real story behind.
A joy, and especially well performed as well.

One of the worst PC books ever!
Revisado: 03-21-22
Written for children, with gay lovers the main heroes. No real story, just a bunch of tripe meant to make non-conformists feel better. The author, TJ Klune, is a gay rights activist and he works very hard to sell young people on the virtues of homosexuality.
It fails as a children’s book. It fails to entertain. It offers no fun and no story. To paraphrase Gertrude Stein when she was asked about Oakland" "There's no there there..." A sad little wokeista morality primer, disguised as a children's book.
A mess!

Historia
WeWork would be worth $10 trillion, more than any other company in the world. It wasn’t just an office space provider. It was a tech company - an AI startup, even. Its WeGrow schools and WeLive residences would revolutionize education and housing. One day, mused founder Adam Neumann, a Middle East peace accord would be signed in a WeWork. The company might help colonize Mars. And Neumann would become the world’s first trillionaire.

Best business read since "Iococca"
Revisado: 08-10-21
Easily the best business book I have read in decades. The two authors do a clinical job of helping the reader understand the buildup and the the fall of this epic Ponzi Scheme. It's a story of greed, betrayal, hero worship and herd stupidity. Impossible to put down!
Highest recommend. This book is "porn" for the business investor.
