And end with no expectations, and wow!

I always thought it would be difficult for somebody to write something of a sci-fi nature in the span of billions of years.
But…
There were zero disappointments here.
Awesome work!

Oh, this has everything that you want in a action space opera type novel. Yes we’ve seen a metric F ton of military space operas, but this one… This series is most likely one of the best. Don’t miss out!

Great storytelling!
Revisado: 02-02-19
This is the first book by Scott that I have read, and I am looking forward to more. There were a couple places that felt like a bit of a reach, but one has to remember that this is sci-fi. Reaches are required. Great book!

Great story with a seemingly rushed ending.
Revisado: 05-07-17
I loved the progression of the story, but the end felt rushed to the degree that when the antagonist finally gets his due, its anticlimactic. Bummer.

Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

Decent take on quantum physics without confusing the reader...
Revisado: 11-03-16
I liked this book and finished it fairly quickly. The characters were well rounded and onion skinned just the right amount. I like the method used to parlay the tech with the other characters. It made the read very pleasant. Made me think of Dark Matter by Blake Crouch as well as Mr. Mann by John Byron. And... it feels as if he left some room for a sequel maybe???

Historia
Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

I have read this book at least 20 times and this was the first time I ever listened to it. At first, it may seem a bit too esoteric for most, but this is an awesome read that anyone should be able to get a handle on. Just read it. I mean... Listen. Until we can all jack in.

Rico has a problem. The experimental program that gave him the high intelligence and lightning reflexes he needs as a hit man for a galactic crime syndicate left him incapable of internalizing moral imperatives the rest of us take for granted. It takes real effort for him to pass as a normal human being and he avoids it whenever he can. But he has a job he loves, a fast ship, and plenty of cash. So life is good.

Historia
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

Best Sci-Fi read since Turtledove's "World at War" series.
Revisado: 05-16-15
What did you love best about Fear the Sky?
The characters were well meshed and unique in voice, and the scenarios are realistic enough that you can forget that you are reading Sci-Fi
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked John Hunt mostly because he fully understands what it is that he is giving up back home by helping out the human race yet, that does not stop him in his efforts to stop the invasion.
What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?
Bray did a fantastic job of giving each character their own unique voice. I can appreciate a voice artist who is so good at what they do, that you know which character is speaking without a cue.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not so much laughing or crying, but I did find myself empathizing with Lord Mantle quite a bit considering how much he hated having to hurt some to save many.
Any additional comments?
I cannot wait for the next one in the series!

Historia
My name is Marten Mann. I work for the devil, or the prince of lies, as you people are so fond of calling him. Yes. You read that last line correctly. I am employed by the powers of evil as acquisitor ad infinitum. I did not seek out this job: I was chosen for the position. To put it in simpler terms, I am a broker of sorts - you know, the guy who finds out what it is that you want the most. I make it readily available to you for a price. I think we all know just how costly that one thing that you think you need so much can be.

Awesome book - Makes you rethink a lot of things!
Revisado: 04-24-15
What did you love best about Mr. Mann?
I liked how the running theme was consistent through the whole book... Winners write the history. That, and the whole balance concept...
What was one of the most memorable moments of Mr. Mann?
I thought that the way Mann was brought into his new career was quite unique.
Which character – as performed by Todd McLaren – was your favorite?
Abby hands down was very strong character and the way the story was told gave you some insight into the machinations behind the devil's actions.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This tale made me laugh and cry. The characters were all very strong and each one had their own voice.
Any additional comments?
This is a "Good vs Evil" book that is not at all in the same vein as your typical theological storytelling. This book will definitely make you think about the how history is written. When's the sequel coming out?
