Packed a good punch!

Loved the story although sad and dark it was well written. I had suspected the culprit then switched only to discover it was who I thought it was . I will be checking out more books by this author. Great job!

True crime podcaster Trinity Scott is chasing breakout success, and her brand-new serial may get her there. Her subject is Clayton Jay Pelley. More than two decades ago, the respected family man and guidance counselor confessed to the brutal murder of teenage student Leena Rai. But why he killed her has always been a mystery. In a series of exclusive interviews from prison, Clayton discloses to Trinity the truth about what happened that night beneath Devil’s Bridge. It’s not what anyone in the Pacific Northwest town of Twin Falls expects.

Loosely based on a true story
Revisado: 06-23-24
I found this book only days after watching the miniseries Under the Bridge. That was the true story of Reena Virk . The stories are very similar. I liked both versions and it holds your attention, makes you want to listen to just one more chapter and then another. The narrator did a fine job with the female voices but lacked a bit with the male ones but overall it didn’t hurt the story at all.

Historia
The summer in question started out with hot, fun-filled days and new friendships. We had just turned thirteen and had our whole lives ahead of us. But that was before her. Before we became known as the Hixton Five and our lives become defined by one night. It’s hard to believe twenty years have passed since she was locked away. But now she’s free and strange things have started to happen. When I close my eyes, the creeping anxiety and fear is overwhelming and all too real. Because the monster is back, and I know she has a score to settle with us.

Historia
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common. They were all murdered by the same man. He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves. He’s gotten away with murder three times now. The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him.

Something different
Revisado: 01-26-24
I loved the POV from the victims and that it wasn’t a crazy far fetched story. I like a story I can get into and believe in while I’m listening, something plausible, and this fit the bill. Narration was clean and smooth and she matched the age of the girls voices. I’ll be checking out other books by this author.

A must listen
Revisado: 12-25-23
If you’ve seen the movie then listen to the book . The details come to life again . You can see Whoopi Goldberg Danny Glover and all the rest in your minds eye . Of course it’s much more descriptive listening , a lot that was left out of the movie but still very close . I loved listening to this and I bet you will too.

The shallowness and how self absorbed these people were
Revisado: 11-21-23
The story itself wasn’t bad but there weren’t any likable characters. No depth in any of them. They were mean and brutal but you didn’t know why , what made them that way . I wanted some reasons so I could understand the characters. Overall it was an ok story, the ending I liked but even that wasn’t fully developed. A little more on what happened , the aftermath would have made it feel more complete.
