Historia
In a completely original analysis, prizewinning historian Alfred W. McCoy explores America's rise as a world power - from the 1890s through the Cold War - and its bid to extend its hegemony deep into the 21st century through a fusion of cyberwar, space warfare, trade pacts, and military alliances. McCoy then analyzes the marquee instruments of US hegemony - covert intervention, client elites, psychological torture, and worldwide surveillance. Peeling back layers of secrecy, McCoy exposes a military and economic battle for global domination fought in the shadows.

The future looks bleak for America
Revisado: 03-29-21
Important reading for anyone worried about the future of American empire. McCoy compares the collapse of the American empire to others and puts forth four distinct scenarios of collapse. Very relevant today with a new administration in office.

Great primer on internet white nationalism
Revisado: 01-06-21
What an amazing coincidence that I finish Culture Warlords on the day the Right storms congress. Lavin writes a great primer on the the current state of white nationalism, though her personal experiences as an antifascist journalist. Required reading for anyone wanting to understand the dangerous forces of white supremacy plaguing America.

Historia
Over two grim nights in Los Angeles, the young followers of Charles Manson murdered seven people, including the actress Sharon Tate, then eight months pregnant. With no mercy and seemingly no motive, the Manson Family followed their leader's every order. Twenty years ago, when journalist Tom O'Neill was reporting a magazine piece about the murders, he worried there was nothing new to say. Then he unearthed shocking evidence of a cover-up behind the "official" story, including police carelessness, legal misconduct, and potential surveillance by intelligence agents.

Holy crap
Revisado: 10-08-19
A truly engaging and thrilling book. Great gumshoe work by Tom O'Neill ties the Manson family to law enforcement, the FBI, CIA, anticommunists, organised crime, Hollywood, the military industrial complex and many others. While the Manson murders are far away in our rear view mirror, O'Neill gives us a blue print for current conspiracies like Epstein and other people in the ruling class. This is a must read!

Historia
It is a widespread belief among liberals that if only Democrats can continue to dominate national elections, if only those awful Republicans are beaten into submission, the country will be on the right course. But this is to fundamentally misunderstand the modern Democratic Party. Drawing on years of research and first-hand reporting, Frank points out that the Democrats have done little to advance traditional liberal goals: expanding opportunity, fighting for social justice, and ensuring that workers get a fair deal.

Bernie 2020
Revisado: 08-20-19
A lot of lessons to be learned from Listen, Liberal if the Democratic Party wants to defeat Trump and the Republicans in 2020
