Historia
Humans from the earliest civilizations were spellbound by the night sky - craning their necks each night, they used the stars to orient themselves in the large, strange world around them. Stargazing is a pursuit that continues to fascinate us: from Copernicus to Carl Sagan, astronomers throughout history have spent their lives trying to answer the biggest questions in the universe. Now, award-winning astronomer Emily Levesque shares the stories of modern-day stargazers.

Nostalgia for a former Astronomer
Revisado: 11-17-23
This book definitely took me back to my grad school days. She gives a very real, very compelling, and very human view of what it is like to be an astronomer.

Historia
In this powerful audiobook, pastor, professor, and leading cultural apologist Voddie Baucham explains the sinister worldview behind the social justice movement and how it has quietly spread like a fault system, not only through our culture, but throughout the evangelical church in America. He also details the devastation it is already wreaking - and what we can do to get back on solid ground before it’s too late.

A must read for everyone who is a Christian.
Revisado: 11-04-22
Voddie delivers truth with the sincerity and whit that only he can do. He addresses CRT with biblical wisdom and sheds light on the satanic strongholds of thought behind the false teachings. He also calls out names of those within the church who should know better but have capitulated to CRT. Lastly, he gives steps to move the church in the right direction when it comes to racial reconciliation and unity in Christ.

How the Irish Saved Civilization

Historia
Thomas Cahill tells the story of how Europe evolved from the classical age of Rome to the medieval era. Without Ireland, the transition could not have taken place. Not only did Irish monks and scribes maintain the very record of Western civilization, they brought their uniquely Irish world-view to the task. As Cahill delightfully illustrates, so much of the liveliness we associate with medieval culture has its roots in Ireland. When the seeds of culture were replanted on the European continent, it was from Ireland that they were germinated.

A story for our times!
Revisado: 10-16-22
It is good to look back at this history as we, once again, witness the demise of western civilization.

Historia
In January 1956, a tragic story flooded headlines around the world. Five men, spurred by a passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ, ventured deep into the jungles of Ecuador. Their goal: to make contact with an isolated tribe whose previous response to the outside world had been to attack all strangers. Through Gates of Splendor, the story of Nate Saint, Roger Youderian, Ed McCully, Pete Fleming, and Jim Elliot, was first recorded in 1956 by Jim's widow, Elisabeth.

Captivating with a couple or skipping racks

this was done well. once during the bulk of the book and several times in the second epilogue, it sounded like I was listening to a scratched cd. I rewound it and played again and it corrected itself. I would listen again.
