Historia
There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

Could not finish
Revisado: 11-29-20
For me, this book was her telling me to stop listening to what others say while soaring on the coat tails of women buying a book to hear what others have to say. I turned off the book when she explained how she didnt know how to buy a plane ticket at almost 40...
So dear Glennon, I took your advice and just stopped listening.

Historia
In this revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him, Mary L. Trump, a trained clinical psychologist and Donald’s only niece, shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security, and social fabric.

Falls flat
Revisado: 07-16-20
It was all about Mary's resentment over money. She sounded petulant and missed a golden opportunity to publish something groundbreaking . The narrative felt like stream of consciousness and not well planned. More time and editing could have organized the disconnected thoughts and anecdotes into a captivating read that might have an election impact. The way ot stands left me feeling annoyed.

Historia
As humans, we all need to belong. While modern social life can make even the best of us feel gawky, for roughly one in five of us, navigating its challenges is consistently overwhelming - an ongoing maze without an exit. Often unable to grasp social cues or master the skills and grace necessary for smooth interaction, we feel out of sync with those around us. Though individuals may recognize their awkward disposition, they rarely understand why they are like this.

Insightful and well organized
Revisado: 01-08-20
I'm an SLP and selected this book to gain additional insight into the continuum of clients I meet. I finished the book with a greater sense of empathy towards myself, my social blunders, misteps, and self depricating internal dialog.

Inspiring story!

narrator has halting and erratic reading style
Revisado: 07-31-19
The concent is ace! It's a great read and I'm glad i listened to this book but the narrator makes listening difficult. The narrator uses erratic pauses mid sentence and sometimes he pauses after several individual words in a row before taking off reading at a pace that makes several sentences sound like one giant run on sentence.
