Terrific alternate timeline and great voice over

I really enjoyed imagining this alternate timeline, in which the ways of the natives of the land that has become known as the Americas, is enhanced and visited in this story. I also appreciate the idea of making the victim whole over a judicial system that is punitive and seeks vengeance over reconciliation.

Beautiful story of a girl who finds her truth and power

I didn’t expect to be so moved by a story for young adults. A story about music and magic that seemed fanciful, light and fun. And yet, the narration, music and depth of the meaning within this story, coming to understand one’s power and choosing to make the hard choice for the good of all, was so eloquently written by the author. A very masterful work indeed.
