Historia
This is the story of Corlath, golden-eyed king of the Free Hillfolk, son of the sons of the Lady Aerin. And this is the story of Harry Crewe, the Homelander orphan girl who became Harimand-sol, King’s Raider, and heir to the Blue Sword, Gonturan, that no woman had wielded since Lady Aerin herself bore it into battle. And this is the song of the kelar of the Hillfolk, the magic of the blood, the weaver of destinies …

Very good but a little sloppy
Revisado: 08-06-23
Like many, I came for the books after watching the show. I was very happy to read these, but the writing is not perfect. Maybe due to the translation but the language is average, and the lore references many European fairytales despite being set in an alternate world. Still, the story is nice, and I am glad to have read it.

Historia
"Call me Ishmael." Thus starts the greatest American novel. Melville said himself that he wanted to write "a mighty book about a mighty theme" and so he did. It is a story of one man's obsessive revenge-journey against the white whale, Moby-Dick, who injured him in an earlier meeting. Woven into the story of the last journey of The Pequod is a mesh of philosophy, rumination, religion, history, and a mass of information about whaling through the ages.

Unlike anything I have read before.
Revisado: 07-13-23
I admit I have put off this classic because I was intimidated by it, but this fear was unwarranted. I found the language enjoyable and almost funny throughout. The book dropped some sage truths with a unique perspective. I am so glad I finally tried this book. The reader was top tier in this performance and no doubt owns a share of my praise.

completely messed up and amazing
Revisado: 06-20-23
The book is remarkable. The language, although fairly low reading level, is evocative and unique. Many of the stages of the protagonist are subtly relatable, giving a sober meaning to the unrealistic story. Not every assertion of the book is universally accepted but allow an author an opinion. Warning, depressing as all hell.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

the book was intelligent, enjoyable, and helpful. an interesting, sometimes new, perspective. The voice acting for any female voice was bad but not a real issue.

Historia
Vanessa March's husband, Lewis, is meant to be on a business trip in Stockholm - so why does he briefly appear in newsreel footage of a fire at a circus in Vienna, with his arm around another woman? Vanessa flies to Austria to find her husband, inadvertently becoming involved in a mystery that spans three countries...and the famous dancing stallions of the Spanish Riding School. The moonlight flooded the meadow, blanching all colours to its own ghostly silver. The pines were very black.

Another great one with an equestrian side
Revisado: 05-04-23
The story was very pleasant and, as always, I love the authors manner of speaking. The equestrian side story was majestic and beautiful. I was very glad to listen to this novel particularly, even amongst the 10 or so I have already heard from Mary Stewart.

Revisado: 04-12-23
The story is fine, and the characters are likable, but I keep coming back to Mary Stewart for the language. The reading level is not terribly high, but the common words are used masterfully with a signature that I could recognize without a title page. If you like her you will like this.

If you like one Mary Stewart book chances are you like them all. The language is beautiful and yet easy going. The story is much the same as all her books with a new heroine but I love them all so I am not going to say that is a bad thing. The voice actor was perfectly acceptable.

Most of Mary Stewart's novels are essentially the same story, the merlin series excluded, but I love each one. The heroines are all unique and I love them all. The language is beautiful and sophisticated but the read still feels comfortable. I am pleased with this purchase.
