Historia
Renowned neurologist David Perlmutter, MD, blows the lid off a topic that's been buried in medical literature for far too long: carbs are destroying your brain. And not just unhealthy carbs, but even healthy ones like whole grains can cause dementia, ADHD, anxiety, chronic headaches, depression, and much more.

What made the experience of listening to Grain Brain the most enjoyable?
This is one of the best books I read in last few wks, information is practical, true and supported by medical literature. Writer also underlines where the information is taken from and provides solutions, as well proof.

Have you listened to any of Peter Ganim’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Historia
In The China Study, T. Colin Campbell revolutionized the way we think about our food with the evidence that a whole food, plant-based diet is the healthiest way to eat. Now, in Whole, he explains the science behind that evidence, the ways our current scientific paradigm ignores the fascinating complexity of the human body, and why, if we have such overwhelming evidence that everything we think we know about nutrition is wrong, our eating habits haven’t changed.

overral information wasn't practical
Revisado: 03-18-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
difficult to say, but I thought the book was little monotonic, and difficult to follow at times. Also data was not supported by medical evidence and there has been a lot of conflicting data and information that was just medically not "true" just the opinion of the writer.
What could T. Colin Campbell and Howard Jacobson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
more evidence based
How did the narrator detract from the book?
?
What character would you cut from Whole?
none
Any additional comments?
too details, no medical evidence

Historia
Since the introduction of dietary guidelines calling for reduced fat intake in the 1970s, a strange phenomenon has occurred: Americans have steadily, inexorably become heavier, less healthy, and more prone to diabetes than ever before. After putting more than two thousand of his at-risk patients on a wheat-free regimen and seeing extraordinary results, cardiologist William Davis has come to the disturbing conclusion that it is not fat, not sugar, not our sedentary lifestyle that is causing America’s obesity epidemic—it is wheat.

this book changed my life

If you could sum up Wheat Belly in three words, what would they be?
I heard about this book for some time. Since I loved bread and all pasta related products it was a hard thing to pick up this book and read it.
I'm glad I did! what a game changer!!!!!!You will never look at modern bread the same after reading this book - Thanks to dr. William Davis. He provides a lot of information and data, as well its all evidence based medicine! Not his word or opinion.
this is a must read book !!!
