Historia
Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom. Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

Enjoyable but a few issues
Revisado: 01-27-25
Plenty of other reviews, so I’ll just add that I might have liked this better if I read it myself. The narrator’s interpretation of the daughter sounds like she’s half the age she’s supposed to be and it’s very distracting. Also, trying not to spoil so I won’t be specific, but there is an issue that arises with the husband that I found hard to believe he would do in this timeframe and didn’t think it was necessary to the story. I didn’t see anyone else mention this but it definitely detracted from my rating this higher since I found it so out of character for him,

I may buy the actual book
Revisado: 10-17-21
It took me a while to get into this audiobook. Found it hard to keep the full cast of characters straight and running statistics would be easier to absorb and follow on paper for me. However, it is a detailed look into a successful coach’s mentality and training plans, as well as his athletes journey through that season. I did not know the full story and was caught up emotionally as the events unfolded. Definitely would listen again now to better follow each runner’s journey or may buy the book. Highly recommend for young runners to better understand the goals of their coaches training and for personal inspiration to anyone.

Would rather have heard read by author
Revisado: 12-18-20
This review is more about the reading than the story. Not sure why after writing his story Ryan or the publisher would not have taken the effort to have him record it. If I had to hear especially mispronounced one more time I might have thrown my phone across the room. I think I would have enjoyed this more in book form.
