great, but inconsistent

This was a great story. However, there was basic, important information, which was obviously inconsistent, in order to move the story in the direction the author wanted it to go. These inconsistencies were large enough, in my opinion, to remove a few stars.
* The MFC & MMC lives were supposed to be completely intertwined, yet the MFC was going to sacrifice her life so he could live...?
* Why and when did the scribe show up to the academy. Her job was to translate a book in order to fix the ward 18 hours away from the battle?
There were more, but these two stood out the most.

instead of reading on KU, I decided I wait for the audible. of course, I had no idea the wait would be this long.. In the end, it was definitely worth the wait, and I could not be happier with this last book in the series.

I am both happy and annoyed that I recently read the Age of X books. I absolutely love the story and the characters and I so badly want to find out what happens next. Unfortunately, Richelle Meads publishers did not pick up book 3. It sounds like Richelle is going to try and self publish it at some point and I really hope she does!

I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this book, and I was surprised by how much I loved it! I loved hearing the story from the two main characters. I loved how their personalities grew right along with the story. I felt what they were feeling and I loved every minute of it! I cannot wait to read or listen 😏 to the next book and I really, really hope it doesn't disappoint.
As soon as this book ended, I literally just thought wow.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so much that I gave it 5 stars. The second one.. well, I found myself yelling at the audible narrator quite a bit. In my opinion, Mare was quite selfish in this book. Hell, she even mentioned a few times that she knew she was more important than the rest. I have No idea why... really... Then all of a sudden she would say she cared, of course that only lasted while it suited her.
i really like the story, but I am not sure if I will read the next book, because I found Mare so bloody annoying!
Cal is too good for her, that is the only reason I can come with as to why so many people are rooting for Maven and Mare to get back together. I don't know if this book would have been better if I would have read it or if the audible version improved it. UGH.. so frustrated!

I have loved every book I've read by Dannika Dark. This is the first one of her books I've listened to. I'm not sure if it was the performance or the story, but I was not as into this one. I will still read books by Dannika though, because all of the other ones I've read were easily 5 stars and maybe this one just wasn't for me.
