Historia
There are few people Nero Wolfe respects, and Lon Cohen of the New York Gazette is one of them. So when Cohen asks for a favor, Wolfe is inclined to listen. According to Cohen, someone wants to kill the Gazette's gossip columnist, Cameron Clay. Death threats are a regular hazard for Clay, who's hurled insults and accusations at every bold-faced name in the five boroughs. But the latest threats have carried a more sinister tone. The columnist has narrowed his potential killers down to five people.

They were called Easy Company, but their mission was never easy. Immortalized as the Band of Brothers, they suffered huge casualties while liberating Europe in an unparalleled record of bravery under fire. Dick Winters led them through the Battle of the Bulge, the attack on Foy, where Easy Company reached its breaking point, and finally into Germany, by which time each member had been wounded. Outside Munich, they liberated an S.S. death camp and captured Berchtesgaden, Hitler's alpine retreat.

Superb History
Revisado: 03-18-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Beyond Band of Brothers to be better than the print version?
Have not read print version
What other book might you compare Beyond Band of Brothers to and why?
Not sure there is one. Dick Winters was a superb soldier and human being.
What does Tom Weiner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Each character has his own identity and feeling about him.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
To digest it takes time.
Any additional comments?
This book should be mandatory reading for all officers in the military. They would learn more about leadership than from any manual. I wish I could have read it when I was a Lieutenant.

Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border.

Historia
When a group of publishers and writers hires Wolfe to solve a case of false plagiarism, it's time for the great detective to hit the books. Four unrelated accusers - including a down-and-out hack writer and a lady poet with a penchant for nude sunbathing - have been fleecing best-selling authors, claiming the authors have stolen their work and ingeniously planting evidence to back up their claims.

Historia
Ulysses S. Grant is often accused of being a cold-hearted butcher of his troops. In Ulysses S. Grant: A Victor, Not a Butcher, historian Edward H. Bonekemper III proves that Grant's casualty rates actually compared favorably with those of other Civil War generals. His perseverance, decisiveness, moral courage, and political acumen place him among the greatest generals of the Civil War - indeed, of all military history.
