Historia
Behind every great revolution is a vision, and behind perhaps the greatest revolution of our time, personal computing, is the vision of J.C.R. Licklider. In a simultaneously compelling personal narrative and comprehensive historical exposition, Waldrop tells the story of the man who not only instigated the work that led to the internet, but also shifted our understanding of what computers were and could be.

For a book to be consistently phenomenal and mind-blowing from start to finish. It is truly in a league of its own with 'history, storytelling, insight, depth, technical detail & easy to follow"...all neatly intertwined into something beautiful.

There are thousands of books on millionaire thinking. The knowledge they offer isn't enough to get you to the highest ranks of wealth. The richest people of our times are billionaires. Only one in five million world citizens belongs to this group. Billionaires are extremely rare, and their mindset differs hugely from that of ordinary millionaires.

Revisado: 01-20-23
The book content and information is invaluable. Lots of great lessons & insights. The repetition of "#Billionaire Gold nuggets" at every paragraph is seriously getting in the way; I wish they could be deleted or removed!

An axcellent & concise summary of the 2007-08 GFC
Revisado: 09-05-22
It's possibly the best book that comprehensively captures the GFC for practitioners and serious scholars. It's well researched, robust, academically inclined and concise. I've read more than 10 books on the topic, this one is head-&-shoulders above the rest.
Novices seeking to be entertained or looking for an easy read may not enjoy.

Surprisingly very good & impressive
Revisado: 02-25-22
Despite a cheap looking cover and an unimpressive book name; it's surprisingly very meaty, provides lot of insight, it's well written and flows very well.
I've read a number of individual biographies of each man covered and still found lots of value, new information & additional perspective/dimension from this book.

This book is what happens when a great author undertakes a great challenge & executes at the highest level possible. The narrator also did justice to this great book to make it a great audible listen.
If you're interested in a perfectly knitted history of Tycoons, US Government, Politics, Influence, Power & Wall Street. This is story telling at it's best (it's too good, we don't deserve it :-))

For years, hedge-fund tycoon George Soros has been demonized by GOP politicians, fringe outlets, and right-wing media personalities, who claim Soros often manipulates the global economy and masterminds the radical left. He has been accused of using his billions to foment violence, support “white genocide”, and pay migrants to seek asylum in the United States. Right-wing media personalities have described him as working to hijack our democracy and undermining sovereignty.

It gives a great account of his inner world, events that led to him becoming CEO, the challenges before and after he was CEO and principles of success. There's lots of insight, raw elements, rare authenticity, private conversations with other leaders of influence and inside the boardroom conversation.

Believe it or not, the results a person obtains are inversely proportionate to the degree to which he is intimidated; it's not what you say or do that counts, but what your posture is when you say or do it! Those who choose to be ostriches and believe they can wish away these realities invite an enormous amount of unnecessary pain and frustration into their lives.

Historia
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

In a word...'Epic!'
Revisado: 06-12-21
it's a really good book of what he went through, experienced, a walk through of his 'inner World, inner conflict & enlightenment', the changes in his perspective with maturity, the truth he knew about himself and all that Malcom X as a black man (negro as he calls it) well summed up.
The narrator is excellent; it feels like you're listening to Malcom X the man.
