Historia
Psychologist Margot Scott has a picture-perfect life: a nice house in the suburbs, a husband, two children and a successful career. On a warm spring morning Margot approaches one of her clients on a busy train platform. He is looking down at his phone, with his duffel bag in hand as the train approaches. That’s when she slams into his back and he falls in front of the train. Margot’s clients all lie to her, but one lie cost her family and freedom.

Highly enjoyable, easy listen
Revisado: 06-25-23
While I did find myself catching on to some of the plot as it went, I was still pleasantly surprised by the story and twists. The voices and audio was very well done. This made time pass quickly while listening.

Historia
Life is looking up for Holly Darling, granddaughter of Wendy—yes, that Wendy. She's running a successful skincare company; her son, Jack, is happy and healthy; and the tragedy of her past is well behind her...until she gets a call that her daughter, Eden, who has been in a coma for nearly a decade, has gone missing from the estate where she's been long tucked away. And, worst of all, Holly knows who must be responsible: Peter Pan, who is not only very real, but more dangerous than anyone could imagine.

New yet familiar
Revisado: 06-17-23
I loved this take on Peter Pan and the Darling family. Magical yet dark and entrancing. Suspenseful and captivating. The descriptions of the sights and sounds make me want to see this made into a series or movie. The narrator was lovely! I loved this!

Good concept
Revisado: 04-23-23
I enjoyed the tape concept and the paralleling desire of 3 family members, to be the best versions of ourselves while succumbing to what others or the world perceives of us. I found the gaps bothersome, the missing pieces in the story of friendship fallouts, Rachel post loss, tapes from zack… I enjoyed the narrators.

Excellent!

I love stories about time loops, or parallel lives and this one did not disappoint. The discussions, concepts, butterfly effect considerations weaved with the love of a mother, a wife…. I loved it. Read it!

A feel good story
Revisado: 01-24-23
After the first book, and all the suspense type novels I read… I kept waiting for the twist… this was just a genuinely feel good story to characters you were rooting for all along. I found myself just smiling and it felt great.

Historia
The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Great story, perfect depictions!
Revisado: 09-24-22
I loved this suspenseful story. I don’t want to give anything away, but I appreciated each characters story and way of life that’s completely upturned yet more connected and free in a way.
The narrators voices were so fun, especially Cora’s! Highly recommended!

Just like a train wreck
Revisado: 09-15-22
Idk how to categorize this. It is reminiscent of a the Walking Dead but without zombies… I get the idea of constant stimulus and immediate gratification with technology today, and the idea that if that is abruptly ripped away the younger era would have so little experience on how to process without it, appropriately interact, or critically think.
But why the killing so early on and why so brutal? I suppose that’s just the premise of the book, the plot. The couple that began storing items and got the rash were the most reasonable of the lot in my opinion. I see the thought about being trapped in the shelter for a time and the onset of mass panic… but the limited amount of rational thinkers? Maybe considering the recent world events it’s not so far fetched… I liked the documentary feel to the book, the actors were well toned, and once I started it- like a train wreck and despite the morbidity, I wanted to see how it ended…
