Historia
According to the Leisure Studies Department at the University of Iowa, true leisure is “that place in which we realize our humanity.” If that’s true, argues Brigid Schulte, then we're doing dangerously little realizing of our humanity. In Overwhelmed, Schulte, a staff writer for The Washington Post, asks: Are our brains, our partners, our culture, and our bosses making it impossible for us to experience anything but “contaminated time”?

Had To Turn It Off--May Be Back
Revisado: 03-24-22
It started out with a bunch of whining, I had to turn it off. The concept of the book is good though, I may be back for another listen.

I love Legos so it was a great recent history of the company and some bad business habits to steer clear of. Great narrator.

It's Okay But Not Practical Long Term
Revisado: 07-31-20
An okay diet to follow. I need more of the carbs he says are okay. I have a very physical job. I get hungry naturally and can' follow this diet. He says to follow the diet and customize it a bit to find what works for you though. Be patient but take with a grain of salt. It will also take some time to reset your body but the results are worth it a little. I especially like how I am keeping my blood sugar low so I am not quite as hungry all the time. My gut also feels a bit better. Highly recommend for those serious about changing their health through diet while maintaining a healthy balance of real food.

Historia
Food is one of life's great joys. So why has eating become such a source of anxiety and confusion? Bee Wilson shows that in two generations the world has undergone a massive shift from traditional, limited diets to more globalized ways of eating, from bubble tea to quinoa, from Soylent to meal kits. Paradoxically, our diets are getting healthier and less healthy at the same time. For some, there has never been a happier food era than today: a time of unusual herbs, farmers' markets, and internet recipe swaps.

Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Good Narrator
Revisado: 06-25-20
I don't agree with the author about getting rid of all manuals but I know where they are coming from. Overall a great book taken with a grain of salt. I liked listening to it. I thought the narrator sounded nice.

Historia
Many of us know the Black Death as a catastrophic event of the medieval world. But the Black Death was arguably the most significant event in Western history, profoundly affecting every aspect of human life, from the economic and social to the political, religious, and cultural. In its wake the plague left a world that was utterly changed, forever altering the traditional structure of European societies and forcing a rethinking of every single system of Western civilization: food production and trade, the church, political institutions, law, art, and more.

The Black Death
Revisado: 03-30-20
I thought the narrator was too cheery sounding for such a dark topic (using headphones). It was so distracting I had to shut the book off. The information is good though and this book was written BEFORE this Coronavirus thing took over on a nationwide scale.

Mostly written for a woman it seems but it was good background noise, except for the long pauses for breathing exercises. I did learn a couple of phrases that were good concepts to remember.
