This was an amazing narrator performance by Dan Stevens. He made you feel the tragedy of this book. This book is not the horror I expected but more a powerful tragedy that makes you really think. I am so happy I decided to give it a shot.

I wanted to love it

First, and most important, Wil Wheaton did an amazing job. You could hear his excitement at the references he got to portray and the way he acted it was so fun. He made me smile, a lot. But... the story took nearly 4 hours to get interesting and then lost me with the ending. I really wanted to like the book as much as I love the first one but I just didn’t.

Took a bad turn

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books of all time, so I am always game for a good retelling. However, on this one, I just didn't like the direction they took some of the characters. In the attempt to modernize it, they changes some of the characters so drastically that there is no way they were the same. On the other side, there were some creative ways that the characters were changed to create a more modern version of a challenge. But overall, they made some characters overall judgmental, over to complete racism and homophobia. Just not want I wanted. The goal to make it more modern I appreciate.. the way they created conflict missed the mark for me.

The. Worst.

That was one of the worst books I have read. The whiny main character spends most of the book being obsessed with male attention that she doesn’t really develop at all. I can honestly say, I got nothing from that book.

Powerful

The narrator is the author. The story is told very monotone at times but wow does she have power in other parts. I am forever in awe of her. I am with you.

Slow start but amazing

Kind of off putting

I liked the storylines and the characters. However, the beginning of each chapter is some off topic history of some character or another and I felt it took me out of the story.

Loved it

This story really surprised me; I started it hesitantly and was taken by surprise at how invested I became. Willowdean's struggles with weight and self image are powerful; as a bigger girl myself I have felt that pain. Her strength to stand up and show beauty is there in everyone is awesome. The way she rallies the other "misfits" to join the "revolution" and in turn creating a bond was awesome. I rooted for her, I rooted for the boy, I rooted for this book. The narrator only has one voice for the male characters which was a little off-putting but other than that, I loved it.

Always fun

Got into Percy Jackson as an adult but still have loved the lore. Jesse Bernstein (the voice actor) does a really good job of performing the book and he honestly has been my favorite part of listening to it.
