Emotional and deep
Revisado: 11-06-21
I loved this story - I loved the use of language to describe the feelings. I found myself holding my breath at the violation - at the fear and held on waiting for exhilaration which never happened - could not have accepted the happily ever after - but rather I just found myself sitting really still in deep gratitude at the survival of these women. Would I read more written by Jeanine Cummins - ABSOLUTELY! Would I listen to another narration by Yareli Arizmendi - without a doubt, her narration was so well matched to the story.

Historia
Maddy is a devoted stay-at-home wife and mother, host of excellent parties, giver of thoughtful gifts, and bestower of a searingly perceptive piece of advice or two. She is the cornerstone of her family, a true matriarch...until she commits suicide, leaving her husband Brady and teenage daughter Eve heartbroken and reeling, wondering what happened. How could the exuberant, exacting woman they loved disappear so abruptly, seemingly without reason, from their lives? How they can possibly continue without her?

Gentle and Kind
Revisado: 03-06-21
I loved this book. I loved the depth the sorrow and the open honesty of the characters. As my audible bedtime story it’s was so relaxing to listen to a book well narrated. No I’m not going to deliver a three paragraph breakdown of the story ...I’m going to say “I loved this book” and I hop you do to. Thank you to the narrators who held me captive to a good story.

Historia
Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

Wonderful storytelling
Revisado: 12-10-20
There are some stories that just fine that special place in your heart , this has been one of those books that has scattered me with feelings of feel good - from the very first sentence. No I’m not going to tell you about the book - I’m suggesting you read an uplifting story. I’m suggesting that you get swept along with the wonderful “southerners” of it all - I’d the warm wisdom, the kindness, and the genteel eloquence of a young life. In short I have loved this book enough to ask Beth Hoffman for a sequel-

Historia
Soon to be a major TV series starring Kenneth Branagh. On 21 June 1922, Count Alexander Rostov - recipient of the Order of Saint Andrew, member of the Jockey Club, Master of the Hunt - is escorted out of the Kremlin, across Red Square and through the elegant revolving doors of the Hotel Metropol. Deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, the Count has been sentenced to house arrest indefinitely. But instead of his usual suite, he must now live in an attic room while Russia undergoes decades of tumultuous upheaval. Can a life without luxury be the richest of all?
