The story was okay, but the narrator, Jessica Holtan needs help. Especially when she refers to characters having a southern accent and all her narrative style reveals characters with nasal tones and have no distinguishable accents. I suggest Jessica listens to Barbara Rosenblat, a 5 star narrator! Is there a director? I couldn’t get behind the story at all and it had potential. Please find a new narrator!

I loved Unshaken - Ruth’s story. Ruth is one of my favorite books in the Bible. The love between Naomi and Ruth inspirational, Ruth’s love of the one True God, rewarding and Boaz is such a fine man of integrity you shout with joy when he marries Ruth. Then you dance with joy when the two declare their long held love for each other. My two favorite lines in the story: “and the women say. . .” Followed by: “and the men say”. I start to smile as I know their remarks will be true to form. Of course Barbara Rosenblat is stellar with her narrative style and dramatic flair. So enjoying these stories. God keep blessing you Francine!❣️

I loved how Francine Rivers wove the story of Tamar in Unveiled: Tamar. Whether her dramatic additions bore any reality. Her historical accuracy of the times and her following the truth found in Genesis was rewarding. I look forward to hearing the remaining four stories in Lineage of grace series. By the way, I was thrilled Barbara Rosenblat narrated this story. I admire her talented voice stylizations, I never have difficulty discerning female from make voices. Her narrations overflow with dramatic flair!!

The Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands started out with some terrible narrators , but the strong plots kept me buying. The narrators have been hit and miss. Who is responsible for choosing narrators? When you have a long, ongoing series you should keep the same narrator if possible, I.e. Kirby Heybourne, one of the best in the series. The plot was okay, but not her best. You can pass on this one and not miss a thing.

The story had great potential except the narrator’s voice pitch was so high the entire book sounded like it was narrated by a 9 year old. Extremely distracting. This narrator should read children’s books and not adult themed ones. Quite disappointing.

The book that answers so many questions. Jessica has revived my admiration for the series. Thank you for such a touching and inciteful look at the mindset and soul of Darius.
I highly recommend this book to the BDB

The pace was very slow. AC shines in character development and intriguing plots. The book never captured my attention or yearn for more story at its conclusion. Sassy Vera wasn’t at her best nor the other main characters. I truly admire Ann Cleeves talent for plot twists that keep you guessing, The Glass Room Disappoints. Skip this one, you won’t miss a thing

This is the first book in the Longmire series that disappoints. Has Craig Johnson hired a ghost writer? The story lacked substance and fluidity. The sassy Victoria was there in several sentences only. Henry Standing Bear was there but not up to his usual wit and insight. It had such promise but it never came together.
If you enjoy this series as much as I have. Take a pass. Don’t read Daughter of the Morning Star.

I don’t like submitting negative reviews, yet this story was too long and too boring. I liked Elliot but Phaedra got on my nerves. I also don’t like spoilers. Needless to say, skip this book. You won’t miss much for continuity with the series. This should’ve been a novella. The narrator, Jill Tanner, is one of my favorites. A shame her talent was wasted here.
I’m hoping the next book in the series is a worthwhile listen.

Liked the story but not the narrator. I had already purchased the trilogy before realizing Ms Carr narrated the first two. She is a very boring narrator. All her characters sound exactly alike. Please get some training Ms. Carr before narrating again.
I will recommend the story by Denise Hunter, but only in print version. I pray the final book out three will have a better narrator.
