Disappointing

I expected better since such good actors were doing the reading. The main character was just not relatable. She lacked some sort of affect and seemed cold in her overall role. Then, there’s her relationship with her daughter that seemed so disconnected. I understand that that’s what the author was alluding to, but it came across as if she was just some distant family member. The lack of emotion was evident. Her terms of endearment towards her daughter seemed fake and flat. Her voice lacks tone affliction.

The story is interesting and had potential until that abrupt disorganized ending. It’s a story that could have been great but fell flat in several areas.

Some characters not explained, plots not fully developed, terrible ending.

It was a good story, but in my opinion, it talked too much about work. I felt like I was working instead of enjoying a light hearted story. The narration of their job scenes went on and on. Characters were good and narrators were as well.

Had Potential

Oh my. What a disaster. This story had so much potential. The characters are weak and needy. So many insecurities narrated in a cheesy manner. You have the female main character whining throughout. The male character and his possessive behavior is almost revolting. The terms of endearment used are for a 16 year old. I mean who calls someone cupcake? It makes you cringe. The sex scenes could have been better narrated. A touch of sexiness and class is replaced by a vulgarity of words that you don’t even hear in porn. Just off way off. It could have been a great story. I’m hoping her other books are better. I’ll give her one more chance because the plot was good and it’s an entertaining story.

Empathetic

This book came to me at the perfect time. I m listening to it for the second time and probably will continue to listen to it several more. In order to grasp each sentence I suggest you do. It is so informative, educational, heart reaching. It helped me come to terms with the death of two dear people in my life. Both died within weeks of each other and the pain and suffering you experience is should and energy consuming. By listening to this book I still experienced my grief and anger and emptiness, but it helped me cope better. It helped me understand the whys and doubts, and anger, and disbelief. The more I listen to it the more I understand and the more comfort I feel. The voice of the narrator is excellent. Very soothing, clear, and loving. You feel every word, you relate to every sentence. This is why I recommend listening more than once. In case you miss something because it is all so important. Best grieving book I could have found. It has calmed me and offered me a vision I otherwise would not have thought about.
