The story kept my attention with endless twists and turns. Richard Flaherty is an amazing tragic character. You can feel the writers, compassion and respect for him. Overall, it is a very good read.

Disturbing inside view of Hollywood and Addiction

This book is an honest inside look at just how awful addiction is and how depraved a person can be when substances rule their life. The man had everything but repeatedly chose to give it all up, and put himself and the people around him through hell. I wish others in his situation find peace and avoid the tragedy that his life ended up being.

I kept waiting for the story to develop in to more than a list of misdeeds but after several hours in, I gave up. I feel for anybody who has experienced abuse but I didn’t listen long enough to find out if the mother got her comeuppance.

Starts off a bit slow, but gets better

The background information in the beginning was a bit dry but I enjoyed the book overall. The writer did a good job of showing all sides of Richard Jewell. He was a unique character who was unfortunately misunderstood by many. There is a good moral to the story, judge not lest ye be judged.

No. It was 3 hours of material stretched over 9 hours. I didn't need to know the life story f every minor character in the book. Very redundant as well. Had to skip ahead a lot.
Would you ever listen to anything by Eli Sanders again?
Maybe. He is a skilled writer but this was just too much.
