Historia
April 2011: On a remote mountaintop overlooking the remains of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, Azad Ashani witnesses a Quds Force demonstration of a capability meant to upend America’s war in the Middle East. Ashani, director of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and Irene Kennedy’s former back channel to the Iranian government, recognizes the demonstration’s true significance, and the nation-ending conflict it will provoke. Alone, Ashani stands no chance of preventing this rush to madness.

I have listened to 18 Mitch Rapp titles...
Revisado: 09-14-24
This is just bad. The writing is extremely poor. Repetitive phrases throughout the book, absurdities like an Army Ranger complaining in the heat of battle about not being able to swim, and significantly more rash decisions by characters like Scott Coleman that are completely out of character. Overall the story didn't hold my attention and it has taken a week to listen to the book. Previous books I have finished in 2-3 days, and then relistened multiple times.
The narration is bad too. There isn't enough distinction between characters, so if you aren't paying close attention you can forget who is talking. Kennedy doesn't sound like a woman (and her story was poor too.) There is no intensity. On previous books, I have actually felt my pulse quicken during suspenseful scenes, but I about fell asleep listening to this one.
Overall, I won't listen to this book again. I can barely remember what happened at the start of the book, and they need to bring back Kyle Mills at the very least. I will not listen to another Don Bentley book...

Repetitive but good content
Revisado: 05-15-24
The book is a very good introduction to pen testing but it is very repetitive. The author will explain a concept, give an example, and then explain the same concept in virtually identical language and then give another example. At one point I though to myself that I accidentally hit the rewind button because the explanation of the concept was basically identical to the same explanation given two minutes prior.
There are also some errors in the narration including a missed edit and a few mispronounced words that should have been corrected during re-recording.
Overall good content and I would still recommend the book for someone interested in the basics but it isn't 5 star worthy.

Historia
The human soldiers stranded on the planet Paradise have been recruited into an alien legion to do the dirty jobs that the high-tech species won't do. Their first mission is to kick the enemy off a backwater planet no one cares about. It's a simple assignment, except everyone has a hidden agenda, and the planet could become a deathtrap.

"It's an older code but it checks out"
Revisado: 05-28-19
HA! I love the hat-tip to Star Wars - Return of the Jedi. If you like the rest of this Universe of books, you will like this one. If you haven't followed it from the beginning, you may not be as impressed. Either way, the performance is excellent. If, like myself, you have listened to the book series multiple times, it will not disappoint.

I am used to Ben speaking fast
Revisado: 04-08-19
Overall great book but the narration should have only taken 3 hours instead of 6. For some reason Ben slowed down his rate of speech to read this book. Probably for those who aren't used to listening to Ben 3 hours a day. It actually seems weird to listen to him speak so slowly...
I'm not willing to take away stars for the narration because others would probably rate the performance low if he spoke at his normal rate.

Historia
“I have sensed a disturbance in the Force.” Ominous words under any circumstances, but all the more so when uttered by Emperor Palpatine. On Batuu, at the edges of the Unknown Regions, a threat to the Empire is taking root - its existence little more than a glimmer, its consequences as yet unknowable. But it is troubling enough to the Imperial leader to warrant investigation by his most powerful agents: ruthless enforcer Lord Darth Vader and brilliant strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Vader comes across as weak, not as the dark lord
Revisado: 07-30-18
I really like Thrawn as a character so I pre-ordered this book. I am almost done with it and I am completely annoyed with the writing (the performance is excellent).
Vader simply comes across as weak. There are many problems encountered that he could solve simply by using the force. But instead, he can't seem to figure that out and thus Thrawn has to save the day with his intellect and resourcefulness. That gets really old, really fast.
There is also a force concept in the book that I found very annoying when read. Not due to the narrator, just the concept in general and how it comes across in writing.

Historia
In The Advertising Effect, respected advertising insider, Adam Ferrier, reveals the ten techniques used by some of the best-known brands across the globe. These techniques are grounded in psychological theory with award winning real world examples and explore how the most effective way to change behaviour is through action rather than the conventional advertising practices (emotional or rational persuasion).

Great book, hard to listen as an American
Revisado: 04-30-15
Where does The Advertising Effect rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Is is in my top 10 books
What three words best describe Nigel Carrington’s voice?
Very Australian Accent
Any additional comments?
The book is very good but it is hard to listen to while trying to multitask as an American. Nigel's accent is enough that it is hard to passively listen and understand what he is saying.
