I've listened to this book multiple times and I never get sick of listening to it. The FMC has a seriously messed up past, but she has an inner strength and personality that wins the reader over. Despite her constant worries, fears, and feelings of being different, she is constantly striving to overcome it all. Her relationship with the guys is everything. It's got the sweet moments. the funny moments, the moments where they make her stronger and hold her up. The dynamic between them as well is so endearing and I love witnessing their story unfold. The slow burn is fitting as it really let's you get a feel for each character. As for narrators...SO GOOD. I don't say that often, but it's the kind of narration that makes you look up books based on narrator, as well as author. I would be quite pouty if they changed in future books. The female narrator is especially irreplaceable in my mind as she is so COMPLETELY Callie's voice. I've never heard a more perfect representation of a character. Well written, great characters, and amazing narration. Give this series a shot.

First off, since it's Auduble, let me just say that the narration is PERFECTION. Both narrators are amazing at bringing not only distinct voices to every character, both main and side ones, but they both tell the story in a way that makes you FEEL the story and all the emotions that go with it.

Secondly, the story itself. I feel like Erica Woods has brought a whole other level of writing to the rh genre. Her writing style and story telling are so enjoyable and easy to get wrapped up and invested in. It's just so much more than just another rh book.

The characters are all so easy to get attached to. There are so many intriguing side characters in the 2nd book as well. The story picks up exactly where it left off in book 1 and even though the timeline doesn't progress far, SO much happens! There's a nice mix of revelations and new mysteries.

I honestly don't want to reveal anything because it really is just a book you have to experience on your own. It's intense. The book hangover is really. I am very eagerly awaiting the 3rd and final book!

I didn't get as attached to the main characters as I did in the first 3 books, but I enjoyed and appreciated the background story of the queen that inspired the outcome of the 3rd book.
