You were pulled in by the descriptive writing prose of the author. I had a clear understanding of each character and how they related together. I wanted to be part of the family too. The story telling was very much on point. Loved how it all came together.

From the beginning of the book until the end, I never wanted to put it down. She builds depth around each character. You are always caught off guard. I am a forever India fan. I wish there was a part 3 to this series.

Beautiful journey back to self

An awakening of self and the truth as it should be. I’ve listened to this work 3 times already and have come to an awakening about living in my own truth in order to reap the benefits of said living. It’s so worth listening to if you want to tap into what you didn’t recognize as the lies that were fed to us from child hood, that continues to be a hinderance in our adult lives. Beautifully narrated by Mr. Coyote.

Surprise ending!

Life’s a Bitch, Until it’s Not...

I like the way the book began In medias res (in the middle of things), and continued in reflective pose. This was/is a great book to share and teach the lessons of entering adulthood too soon. Best of all, sharing the possibility of lessons learned, second chances, new beginnings and happy endings as long as forgiveness is in the mix.
I have also been able to realize the narrator’s ( Ms Nicole Small) growth, she has definitely stepped up my game! Excellent narrative!

From the introduction to the last page of the book, I stayed on pins and needles. This narrative gave the feel of the Non-fictitious Life of maintaining and surviving as a person of color. Exposing the struggles and the oppress ion that fuels most to make choices that lead to successfully overcoming the obstacles of an oppressive life. I have every intention of listening to this narrative again and again…. I actually wanted the villain to win!!!

The Dynamic Duo!

Ashley & JaQuavis are fulfilling their destiny as the dynamic duo of urban Fiction. I can't stop listening. I am studying for my MBA, which requires a great deal of work, so I listen audibly. What a wonderful tool, I get to enjoy reading all of my favorite authors and am so happy for this twisted series. I manage to get in 1-2 books with each sitting, which is a way for me to get a brake from studying. On to book 3!!!
