WOW! Refreshing, Captivating, Intriguing...

This story seemed interesting from its description, but I had no idea what a ride I was in for! Was prepped for some thriller about a woman drugged whose life was stolen by vengeful family or friends or strangers. I was so very wrong. This story captured and held my complete attention the whole way! It feels like a mystery novel mixed up with someone's diary as a story is woven through the private intellectual and emotional wanderings of a diarist. This story leaves a hazy after effect of curiosity about my own life, past, present and future. Maybe not for everyone, but I absolutely love this story! Cannot forget to tip my hat to the narrator who did a spectacular telling of this unsuspecting gem...

One of the best audiobooks I have listened to in a long time. Complex, touching, engaging, etc. If I had to draw a picture of the story line, it would look akin to a pretzel. This story and its content are certainly not for everyone, which is unfortunately the reason for some of the negative reviews. I was empathetically immersed in this story while traversing an emotional rollercoaster all the way to the very last minute...

Wow, what a great story! And quite the rollercoaster of emotions as the story continues to its explosive and unexpected ending. Narration was spot-on and engaging. I strongly recommend this author, narrator and story.

Stacy Green has certainly created a great new crime series with FBI Agent heroine Nikki Hunt. Nikki is complex, imperfect, believable and addictive. The narrator, Kate Handford, of books 1 and 2 is fantastic. I hope that she will continue with the series in book 3.

This is my first Steve Jackson experience -- hooked! And Kevin Pierce as narrator is fantastic. This combination of writer and storyteller is perfect.
As for the rendering of Tom Luther and the cast of victims, witnesses and other characters surrounding this case, I ran through the gamut of emotions from horror, shock, sadness, rage, disbelief, etc. This is a very comprehensive and soul-searching account of the crimes of an abhorrent man who doesn't deserve the breath he he is given.
I have already picked out my next Steve Jackson/Kevin Pierce listen.

Loved this story. Graphic, shocking, scary and addictive. I devoured this story and had a hard time hitting 'pause' or 'stop.' Even the ending was satisfying... The narrator, Joe Hempel, is one of my new faves. This is my second experience of his narration and I eagerly wait for more. I definitely recommend this title, author and narrator!

Out of all the Audible books I've listened to, this one is certainly one of my favorites. What a ride this one is. I find it difficult to describe how I felt about this story without giving up spoilers. I'll sum up by saying that the twists and turns make for one helluva thrill ride! I couldn't have second-guessed the ending, but what a trip the author takes us on getting there!

What a Surprise Treat!

I had no idea what to expect of this story. The narrator, Mr. R.C. Bray was amazing!! His rendition of the characters was mesmerizing. Never having read or listened to this author's books, I was very pleasantly surprised by this story. Elements of horror, gothic mystery, intrigue and a family rich with drama and history in the deep south all blended wonderfully to keep me entranced and hooked. Would highly recommend both author and narrator alike!

This was my second attempt at this narrator; Jack Ketchum is one of my favorite authors, and now I have learned to allow a narrator's voice and delivery to "grow on me." David Stifel did a great job of telling this story. Would highly recommend -- gruesome, raw and very Ketchum!! Loved it!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this story. It was almost two stories along side each other, occasionally intermingling and then braiding together at the end with a very unexpected ending. I very much enjoyed this read and the narrator was fantastic!
