Fascinating and sad
Revisado: 03-11-25
Kept me guessing till the end. Heartbreakingly sad and beautiful. Good ending. My only complaint is that the narrator made me think the doctor was a woman until the very end because of the voice she used for him.

Historia
This anthology celebrates Brigid, an ancient and mysterious Celtic spirit who ranks among today's most popular modern goddesses. Venerated in many forms, including as a saint and a goddess, Brigid has traveled the globe alongside the Celtic diaspora. Once a goddess with a narrow territory, she is now an internationally beloved presence. While acknowledging her origins, this book also explores Brigid from the perspective of those outside her original Celtic homeland.

Reignited my passion for Brigid. The different stories were fascinating, and the warm milk recipe is delicious! Can't wait to try out some of the other recipies! Definitey reccommend for anyone interested in the goddess or saint. I learned a lot!

I always wanted to read the trilogy since I enjoyed The Hobbit so much as a kid and grew up watching the movies, but I was never able to get past the first chapter of this book reading the physical copy. I'm so glad to have found this audiobook. The voice acting and sound effects are very good, and I particularly enjoy Sam and Pippin's voices.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Beautifully Sad and Hard to Put Down
Revisado: 09-14-22
I don't normally read non fiction, but I kept hearing about this book, and it's definitely worth the hype. As someone who also struggled with undiagnosed OCD as a child, I can relate to parts of her story, and I empathize with her completely. This is a great read, and I love hearing her tell her story in her own words with her own voice. She's refreshingly honest and has a unique sense of humor. This book will definitely stick with me for a long time.

Fun and Addicting.
Revisado: 07-26-22
I was never super into Greek Mythology and only stumbled upon this gem while searching for books narrated by Stephen Fry. I had no idea he even was an author! I figured this would be boring and that I'd delete it after listening for a few minutes, but boy was I wrong! Stephen Fry is an excellent narrator and wonderfully cheeky with his own quirky sense of humor. Even being a long book, there was never really a dull moment. The stories were wild and outrageous, and Stephen's voices and funny comments made it a very enjoyable experience. I can't wait to devour the rest of this series!

Decent Read
Revisado: 07-19-22
Story was decent but kind of repetitive and took a while for anything major to happen. Narrator was annoying and paused randomly in the middle of sentences that wouldn't have commas or pauses. He also did that weird and annoying semi-chuckle at himself thing while talking. I found him super grating and couldn't wait to be done with this book. He did do a decent female voice though and was able to distinguish the voices enough for me to tell when different characters were speaking. Maybe I'm hard to please, but I didn't find this as amazing as the rave reviews suggested. The end left me feeling like "Really? That's all?"
