Historia
Imagine never being able to close your eyes and remember the feel of your mother’s arms wrapped around you. Now imagine closing your eyes and remembering your mother’s tears splashing down on your face as she is on top of you, crying as she is trying to choke you to death. My mother left me these memories and many more during my traumatic childhood. After many years of struggling with trying to understand "Why me?" I took back control of my life and started saying, "It was me, now what am I going to do?" The answer is my book, "Why Me?"

Revisado: 09-09-20
I couldn't stop listening to this. i listened to it straight through.
it's like looking into a mirror of my own childhood. almost perfectly.
its my life story as well. this helped me realize that I do have to remove my mother from my life completely to get better.
I highly recommend this. slight trigger warning

Historia
Serial killer Gary Heidnik's name will live on in infamy, and his home, 3520 North Marshall Street in Philadelphia, is a house tainted with the memory of unbelievable horrors. What police found there was an incredible nightmare made real. Four young women had been held captive - some for four months - half-naked and chained. They had been tortured, starved, and repeatedly raped. But more grotesque discoveries lay in the kitchen: human limbs frozen, a torso burned to cinders, an empty pot suspiciously scorched....

Amazing and captivating.
Revisado: 05-20-20
My only disappointment with this is the fact that it wasn't a longer story. I couldn't stop listening. These women are amazing to prevail over such atrocities. Their bravery and their refusal to step away is nothing short of phenomenal. It's unfortunate that this went on for so long as the victim list is vast and never ending but they are hero's. They saved countless potential victims in the future. They put a stop to it even though for over 20 years they were called liars. It's sad that his position in the community is what made this all possible. HOWEVER, he will get his for sure. Inmates will take care of him. They don't like people like him. So in time he will get it.

Good but but iffy.
Revisado: 05-19-20
This book read very well however, there is alot of misinformation. I have ever been captivated by this case so I have read pretty much everything there is to read on it. The book was very well written but a lot of the information was misconstrued in some ways. Other than that, it was fantastic.
