Scott Fitzgerald makes antebellum Baltimore his setting for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a fantastical tale with some Poe-like overtones about a baby born at age 70 who then lives life in reverse, his hair turning "in the dozen years of his life from white to iron-gray, the network of wrinkles on his face becoming less pronounced". What ramifications that creates for Benjamin's relationship with his father first and then later with his wife and his own son makes for some fantastical situations.

This 20 plus year old autobiography certainly proves that history repeats itself. The progressive playback is exposed for all to see. It's depressing to know the truth and watch a new generation buy into their lies. The narrator had the right tone to reflect the brilliant intellect David posseses.

A great story with a fabulous reader

Erik Larsons weaving of the stories of the Chicago world's fair along with the evil doings of HH Holmes slowly pulls you in. Once hooked you wont want to turn it off. Scott Brick's reading puts it over the top. Loved it.

I have always been a fan of Anthony. Anthony's humor and sharp wit are present throughout this audio book and he offers a great behind the scenes look at shock radio. As a woman I enjoy listening to boys being boys. I have never been offended by their antics and the women who whipped them out and did unspeakable things for them and their audience were never forced. These women practiced pro choice, to have class or be trash. The later of course made the radio show like watching a bloody car wreck where your instinct to know what was going on made you unable to look away. I only wish the book was longer.

I have read/listened to many biographies over the years. I was extremely impressed with the amount of intimate details the author was able to uncover in this story. Robert Ripley was an amazing man with an even more amazing story. The author and the reader truly bought his story to life. One of the best biographies I ever read or listened to.
