Historia
Legendary Dodgers Maury Wills, Sandy Koufax, Wes Parker, Jeff Torborg, Dick Tracewski, and Tommy Davis encapsulated 1960s America: white and black, Jewish and Christian, wealthy and working class, pro-Vietnam and anti-war, golden boy and seasoned veteran. The Last Innocents is a thoughtful, technicolor portrait of these seven players - friends, mentors, confidants, rivals, and allies - and their storied team that offers an intriguing look at a sport and a nation in transition.

Historia
Often called the greatest novel ever written, War and Peace is at once an epic of the Napoleonic wars, a philosophical study, and a celebration of the Russian spirit. Tolstoy's genius is clearly seen in the multitude of characters in this massive chronicle, all of them fully realized and equally memorable.

Excelllent Companion Hardcover Book Available

What did you love best about War and Peace?
Instead of repeating the well-deserved accolades that have been bestowed upon W&P throughout the decades, I offer the following remarks. I found the audiobook much more understandable and therefore more enjoyable when I was able to locate a hardcover copy of W&P. W&P is a long and quite complex work. I believe that most readers need a helping hand in traversing Tolstoy's rugged battlegrounds.
When I contacted Audiobooks, I was informed that print copy of the audio version was unavailable. The following correction is made available: Garnett's unabridged translation of W/P has been published in hardcover format by The Modern Library, Random House, Inc., New York (1994), ISBN 0-679-60084-1 (1,386pps.). It is available through Amazon.com.
