Great story, bad narrator. too breathy.

narrator was way too breathy for my taste.
The story, of course, is fantastic. can't wait for the next installment hopefully with a new narrator.

Good, complex story so far. I do have to say, though, that hearing Simon Vance do an American accent is pretty comical. The thing with Kael does remind me of the WoT and Rand al Thor with the whole saidar/saidin taint thing, but we'll see where it goes!

Romance novel with assassins and space ships.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. I didn't realize it was going to be a romance novel at its core. I hate romance novels but the story was pretty good if you take that part out. I won't be reading any more books by this author. Oops.

What did you love best about Good Omens?

I read this book years ago, but listening to it on Audible made it even better! I didn't think it was possible! I would give it 10 stars if I could!

What made the experience of listening to The Cycle of Arawn the most enjoyable?

Tim Gerard Reynolds does a wonderful job with the characters. I felt like the way he acted each character - especially the two main characters - really made the story.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dragon Factory to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print versions, but I think Ray Porter adds considerable dimension to the characters. I sometimes listen to a book and then buy the subsequent books in a series in print to read them myself. I would not do that with this series. The stories are great, but Ray Porter really knocks it out of the park.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dragon Factory?

The fight scenes are fantastic.

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ray Porter does a fantastic job playing the characters in these books. I can almost see this as a movie just based on his narration. Top notch narrator!!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Of course the scene near the end, I won't spoil it. It involves Grace.

What made the experience of listening to The Name of the Wind the most enjoyable?

The story is engaging.

What didn’t you like about Nick Podehl’s performance?

I realize that the majority of the story is told from a young man's perspective, but I would have preferred a more mature reader for this story. I opted to read the next book on my Nook rather than listen to it for this reason. I feel the reader detracted from the experience.

I couldn't possibly pick one. The story is wonderful and there's nothing better than having Neil Gaiman read his own work.

What about Neil Gaiman’s performance did you like?

Neil Gaiman is mesmerizing as a reader. I would listen to him read the dictionary.

Would you try another book from Isaac Asimov and/or Larry McKeever?

The first books in this series were read by Scott Brick, who is fantastic. I didn't even check to see who the reader was for this one and I was very disappointed. Larry McKeever reads everything like it's a Driver's Ed video. The personalities of the characters are flat, especially when compared to how Scott Brick reads

If the next one is read by someone other than Scott Brick, I will just read it rather than listening to it.
