Historia
Lucy Marshall has hit rock bottom. After failing to succeed as a single mom in Atlanta, she’s back home and moving in with her older brother, Drew. Reconnecting with her support system is the right thing to do, but Lucy can’t help but feel like a failure. Her four-year-old son deserves the world, and all she can give him is a spare bedroom. But Drew is the sweetest uncle, and some quality time might be exactly what they both need to start fresh. That is until she meets Cooper, her brother’s incredibly hot best friend.

Very immature characters.
Revisado: 07-14-24
Silly book with no depth. Hard to believe both characters fell so deeply in love immediately. She seemed to fall for a guy due to his abs. Never understood what he saw in her.

Definitely some comic moments but the storyline was just too one dimensional. It was like watching a very long Hallmark movie.

Good story. Told well.
Revisado: 12-31-21
Loved the story, the history, and the performer. The author's ability to weave in each main characters' life stories into the overall story was well done.

Starts quirky but solid ending
Revisado: 08-30-21
I loved the character, Frances. She was entertaining, didn't apologize for her life and her sarcasm and wit reminded me of myself and friends. She handled some tough subjects well such as families living after a sucide. The ending tied things up neatly but the story does make you think about what is important and that without solid relationships of some sort people go a little cra cra as Frances would say.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Texas, 1921. A time of abundance. The Great War is over, the bounty of the land is plentiful, and America is on the brink of a new and optimistic era. But for Elsa Wolcott, deemed too old to marry in a time when marriage is a woman’s only option, the future seems bleak. Until the night she meets Rafe Martinelli. By 1934, the world has changed; millions are out of work and drought has devastated the Great Plains. Elsa must make an agonizing choice: fight for the land she loves or leave it behind and go west, to California, in search of a better life for her family.

Read only if you like misery
Revisado: 07-10-21
The narrator did a good job. The story just went on and on about hardship. It did demonstrate what has historically happened and continues to happen regarding money and power ruleing the world and is almost impossible to overcome.

Historia
A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged. Left behind is a lonely 15-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother's sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from - a place to which she vowed she'd never return.

Historia
Hig survived the flu that killed everyone he knows. His wife is gone, his friends are dead, he lives in the hangar of a small abandoned airport with his dog, his only neighbor a gun-toting misanthrope. In his 1956 Cessna, Hig flies the perimeter of the airfield or sneaks off to the mountains to fish and to pretend that things are the way they used to be. But when a random transmission somehow beams through his radio, the voice ignites a hope deep inside him that a better life exists beyond the airport.

I don't usually like to read end of the world stories but this one was much more about the human reaction and needs. Really enjoyed the wsy he intertwined past and present. Good sense of humor too.
