Historia
The death of history teacher Craig Foster devastated his young wife, who'd sent him off to work that morning with a lovingly packed lunch. It shocked his colleagues at the Upper West Side private school. And as for the 10-year-old girls who found him in his classroom in a pool of bodily fluids, they may have been traumatized for life. Lieutenant Eve Dallas, of course, is more hardened to murder cases. And this is clearly a murder case.

Surprising perpetrator
Revisado: 02-17-25
This is my favorite series. I have read many of them and not necessarily in order. I enjoy the characters and the reader is terrific. The author is very good at coming up with cases for the detectives to solve.

Revisado: 02-03-25
I have enjoyed every one of the Eve Dallas books I’ve read. The characters are well developed and relatable. I think the narrator is fabulous and it’s never a problem knowing who is speaking. Highly recommend.

Historia
On Manhattan’s East Side a woman lies dead at the bottom of the stairs, stripped of all her valuables. Most cops might call it a mugging gone wrong, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas knows better. A well-off accountant and a beloved wife and mother, Marta Dickenson doesn’t seem the type to be on anyone’s hit list. But when Eve and her partner, Peabody, find blood inside the building, the lieutenant knows Marta’s murder was the work of a killer who’s trained, but not professional or smart enough to remove all the evidence.

Historia
Jenna’s parents had finally given in, and there she was, at a New York club with her best friends, watching the legendary band Avenue A, carrying her demo in hopes of slipping it to the guitarist, Jake Kincade. Then, from the stage, Jake catches her eye, and smiles. It’s the best night of her life. It’s the last night of her life. Minutes later, Jake’s in the alley getting some fresh air, and the girl from the dance floor comes stumbling out, sick and confused and deathly pale. He tries to help, but it’s no use. He doesn’t know that someone in the crowd has jabbed her with a needle.

A decent story.
Revisado: 07-12-23
I enjoyed most of the book but felt it could have been shorter and still been as good. I didn’t think the twists were surprising. The reader was good. I tried to give the story 4 stars but it came up 5 and wouldn’t let me change it.

Possible beach read.
Revisado: 08-20-22
This book wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. I found myself drifting away easily and missing parts of the story. The concept is interesting but I found the characters to be rather boring. Might be a decent beach read as it’s easy to put down.

A mystery down under
Revisado: 05-07-22
The narrator was very good at making the Australian dialogue believable but understandable. The story was a bit confusing to me in places but held my interest throughout. There is a preview of the next book and the reviews of this one are all good. I’m ordering it now.

Historia
A decade ago in upstate New York, art student Emma McCullough walked into the woods and was never seen again. It’s a mystery that still haunts her bucolic university town and her broken family, especially her sister Haley, whose need for closure has become an obsession. But now, finally, the first piece of evidence in the vanishing has been found: Emma’s bracelet, lodged in a frozen piece of earth at the bottom of a gorge.

Mostly enjoyed
Revisado: 04-19-22
I enjoyed the story and the reader was pretty good. My complaint is that it was stretched in ways I found annoying. I won’t go into specifics as I don’t want to ruin it for others. I feel the good outweighs the bad, I just think it might have been better if it had been better a bit shorter.

Great series
Revisado: 02-09-22
There have been but a few series I was totally involved with and right now this is the only one still bringing new ones to print. I don’t get surprised often but the characters are old friends and the reader’s voice is familiar and you never have to wonder who’s talking, as she is excellent at giving every character their voice. If you like police procedural mysteries, these are for you!

I love the Plum series but didn’t feel this was up to par. I listened to it on a trip and only chuckled a couple of times, which is much less than usual.
